Summary: “Heechul, Hankyung is going to be going back to China for about two months. That is probably the only way that would cheer Hankyung up. Moreover, he needs to visit his parents,” Eeteuk broke the news to Heechul one day.
Heechul snapped back to reality when Hankyung opened the door and walked into the room. Heechul got up and patted Hankyung’s bed.
“Here! Have a good night’s sleep alright! It’s going to be a long day tomorrow. We have recordings to do at the studio. Night!” Heechul said while planting a kiss on Hankyung’s forehead.
Hankyung nodded and tucked himself into bed. His back was facing Heechul. There was tension in the air, but Heechul didn’t know what to do with the awkward situation.
That night, they had the quietest night ever. Neither of them slept well.

Two months had past since the first performance in which Hankyung had to wear a mask. Since then, Super Junior saw how Hankyung change from a lively, jovial person to someone that constantly who wore an indifferent expression on his face. He was could not attend meetings; neither could he go to the fan café like the rest of the group, whenever the media was involved.
Heechul could do nothing but look on helplessly. The person that he stared at everyday was like a total stranger to him.
Hankyung was no longer the loving confidante that he remembers fondly of. He no longer cooks his well-loved Beijing Fried Rice, nor does he give the unique laughter.
Heechul looked at the photo placed next to his bed. It was the picture of them smiling gleefully at the camera when they were out for a Super Junior picnic. When Heechul looked at the photograph, his heart ached. The smile… The genuine smile… It was as though a huge gush of water came throwing itself on Hankyung, and stole away the sparkle in Hankyung’s eyes. The spark in Hankyung’s eyes was now gone, along with his soul. Now what that was left was only his body, his frail body, which was overwhelmed with only one emotion - indifference.
Hankyung started to be indifferent for anything that he does. During meals, he simply picks up his fork and jabs it into his food, while looking emotionlessly into space. He no longer fights with Heechul to get the only pair of chopsticks. Straight after dinner, while the rest of the group lazed around the living room to catch the newest season of EPL, he locks himself in the room. His strong competitive spirit was no longer in him. He no longer does his daily-routine of handstands or push-ups. He was like a living spirit with no soul…
Hankyung’s motto of trying his best in everything seemed to have faded away together with his soul. He started lacking interest in the group’s newest choreography. During variety shows, he is often seen standing right at the back, as if he has left.
Amiss Hankyung’s woes, Hankyung did not realize that his partner was also gradually fading away. He did not realize that his partner was as in as much pain. Neither did he realize that the Soju beers in their refrigerators were quickly disappearing. He did not realize that his partner’s soul too has left this place… Now both of them were in the worlds of their own…
Heechul was a person that needed someone to show their affection and love towards him. That Hankyung did not realize, definitely not when he was drowned in his sorrows. Heechul started to look for someone else to lean on…

“Heechul, Hankyung is going to be going back to China for about two months. That is probably the only way that would cheer Hankyung up. Moreover, he needs to visit his parents,” Eeteuk broke the news to Heechul one day.
“What?! But what about me…” Heechul whined. Hankyung was going to leave him? What is going on!
“Heechul, please understand. Letting Hankyung go back to his homeland would do him more good than bad. Hankyung has also agreed,” Eeteuk explained.
Heechul stared helplessly at Eeteuk, but he knew that neither he nor Eeteuk could do anything about it. If he wants his partner to be back to his usual self, he would need to let go. Be brave, Heechul told himself quietly, while nodding to Eeteuk.
When he returned to his room, he found Hankyung packing for his long trip. He looked at the silhouette of his partner, and couldn’t help it but gave Hankyung a surprise hug from the back and murmured, “Hankyung-ah…” into Hankyung’s right ear, “I would miss you… Really I would… Promise that you would call me everyday?”
“Okay… My flight’s in an hour’s time so I have to get to the airport now. Love you,” Hankyung said while kissing the forehead of his partner.
When they went to the first level of their dormitory, the rest of the group was already waiting for them. Siwon helped Hankyung to place his luggage into the boot of the car.
“Will miss you hyung!” Ryeowook shouted, while waving his hands at Hankyung.
The rest of Super Junior went forward to give Hankyung a hug each. Some gave their well-wishes.
Only Kibum and Heechul were able to see Hankyung off at the airport, so they Super Junior went their separate ways after the small farewell.
At the airport, Heechul hugged Hankyung, and smelt the cologne that Hankyung used. This smell… This is the smell that Heechul would be missing for two months. Two months… These two words seemed to be stabbing into Heechul’s fragile heart.
“Bye Hannie, love you,” Heechul mumbled into Hankyung, while breaking away from their hug.
“Love you too,” Hankyung said. Then, he turned to pat his dongsaeng’s back, and pulled his luggage along with him as he started off towards the departure hall.
Heechul could not believe that it was really taking place, looking at his partner walk further and further away from him. Looking at the 1.81m frame slowly fading away, he could feel his heartstrings being pulled. It hurt.
“Hyung, you okay?” Kibum said worringly.
“Yeah. Bring me to the minimart when we get back to the dorm. I think that I would need five crates of Soju.”
