Gorgeous :D I especially love this and the lead up to it: "Thank you," he repeats, in lieu of her quotes about debts, in place of her reminders of payment and owing, in answer to the question she asks more often than she likes. And I am very curious now as to the nature of these wings. Because my brain tends towards mutation, fae, mysticism, but now I'm thinking more angelic.

:D It was really fun to read the earlier piece and find tie-backs, ways to reference the original and demonstrate how much things have changed since then. For two years she's kept her ledger, tracked the balance and whether she now owes him (or if he's repaid another debt), and now... And Clint catches it, understands, to some extent, the significance of its exclusion. So yes, feels.

Ha, good question. They are indeed mutations of a sort, so Clint would have slotted into the X-men/mutant category in this 'verse; he is definitely not an angel or angelic offspring, etc. Ooor, are you referring to their appearance, and angelic as white, fluffy, etc?
