i can't believe i'm leaving for MEXICO in less than 3 days!!! this is so exciting!
things are definitely hectic and the 2 papers i had to write are still not done. *sigh*
despite having one of the worst weeks ever-- today was absolutely awesome.
tommy's mom, sister and i went to do some shopping today because jennie needed to pick up a few things and i had to look for another bikini, some shoes etc...
the best part of the whole day was when we got back from shopping and tommy had just come in from working at the saw mill (god i love a man who's masculine) and his mom was like,
"emma has something she's been dying to show you"
and he was like, "lemme guess... she bought another pair of heels" (see, he's learning quick!)
but these were not just any heels... these are my "country girl" heels:
of course he tried to suppress a laugh when i showed them to him-- mostly b/c i was just oh-so excited
and we have this running joke going that meredith started when she said i was like a Barbie doll in that I had all my little "themes" (i.e. "ski instructor emma", "yoga emma", "romantic dinner emma") and so he obviously knew this had to be for the "country girl emma" collection.
and he just said, "c'mere you." and wrapped his arms around me and said ,"only you...babe."
*hehe* well, i'll give him points for appreciating my excitement, if not the shoes themselves. (this purchase, among other things led to a conversation parodying Gary Allen's cover of "The Best I Ever Had"... and I was like, "well... i don't know if i'll ever be the best..." and he cut in, "don't worry... you're definitely the most interesting. never a dull moment here, folks!"
this *fabulous* purchase also reminds me of a quote from Sex & the City: "city girls are really just country girls... with better outfits."
