a backwards homecoming

for those of you who didn't know... i spent friday night - sunday morning feeling near death from the worst cold/flu thingie ever-- so much so, that i actually dragged my aching body out of bed and made the trip home to NJ.

anyway, i'm gonna skip all the snuffy miserable details because they sucked to live through them once, and quite honestly it's kinda icky... so we'll skip ahead to monday night (feeling 99.9% normal and good) after my class and a tanning session...

the backwards homecoming part--
after class i hurried over to see tommy and at first because of some silly miscommunication and partially me being practically incoherent on saturday, it was kind of awkward AND to top it off his house was like a million degrees b/c the woodburner had yet to burn out and so i stepped outside to cool off. a few seconds behind, he stepped out and then we did the cutest thing ever...
it started to pour-- really really hard, so that the rain was coming down in sheets and there was thunder and some lightening waaaaay off in the distance, so we plopped down on this little porch-swing-"esque" thingie on the porch and watched/listened to the rain and chatted etc... it was the most perfect backwards homecoming ever. i mean, i can't think of any other place i would've rather been for that part of the evening than right there with him. and i guess with the rain kind of drowning out any sounds that might ruin the atmosphere... there was a kind of timelessness to it -- truly a moment frozen in time.

it was so freakin old-fashioned and adorable!!!! so cute! i loved it. see? i can be a girl of simple pleasures -- never mind that i just paid almost $1000 in bills today. *tee-hee*
