"Mia! Damn watch where you're going!"
Mia laughed as she pulled up on the jets wheel ascending up into the sky more. She looked over at Oliver who looked like he was about to have a heart attack and then Hal who even looked scared. But of course that could be because they were in one of his jets and he didn't want anything to happen to it. She had already almost crashed it. But she had to learn how to pilot an aircraft someway. She asked Ollie, Ollie told her to ask Hal. It took about a month of begging, and flattering, and bothering him until he caved in. She could tell he was only worried she was going to crash one of his precious jets. But she totally wasn't...
"Mia!"
"What?" She yelled back at Oliver who grasped her seat from behind. "God there isn't anything around here to crash into. Relax."
"No, but where we are, the mountains blend into the sky so you need to watch out more carefully. Or maybe go a little higher." Hal said in a steady voice looking back at Ollie with an amused look on his face. "Why are you here? Back seat driving is never cool."
"So true." Mia said as she went up a little higher actually watching for mountains now. "You shouldn't have even come. It's like you don't trust me, or Hal." She heard Oliver grumble something inaudibly and let go of her seat. You never thought that you were ever going to need to learn how to fly a plane, unless you wanted to be a pilot. She had never wanted that. But in this sort of business, you had to learn eventually she guessed. Luckily for Mia her mentors best friend was one of the best pilots around. At least that was what Hal was always saying. So at least she was in good hands.
Hal leaned towards Mia slightly and smirked. “Maybe we should just ditch the old man.” He said in a carrying whisper that got more grumbling from the back of the plane.
Glancing towards Hal, who winked at her, Mia grinned and laughed slightly. “This thing doesn’t happen to have an ejector seat does it?” She asked her finger passing over a few buttons. “Ollie get your parachute on, we don’t want you killing our fun.”
There was some sputtering, “You’re grounded when we get home, missy!” Oliver said after a moment.
Mia and Hal both laughed. “He never lets me have any fun.” Mia said with a small sigh and Hal reached over squeezing her shoulder.
“That’s why I’m here.” He said. “I‘m the fun one. I‘m always up for some fun.” More sputtering from Ollie with a few swear words thrown in, and Mia laughed leaning back in her seat. “Alright, alright.” Hal said finally and grinned back at Ollie. “Lets land this thing before Ollie has a heart attack.”
“Lets get pizza!”
“You’re going to bed without dinner, young lady!”
"You're hilarious, Ollie." Mia said turning around and sticking her tongue out at him.
"I'm not being funny. I'm being serious. You're grounded."
"You're grounded."
Hal let out a tiny hissing sound. "Lets bicker when we get back to the ground." He said and Mia turned back around shrugging her shoulders and smiling to herself.
