A Crush

He decided to sit there, it reminded him of Jaejoong. *sighs*

There was a day, he decided to go in the school hall after the majority of students went home because school was done for the day. His mood was gloomy, and he felt like walking alone. As he was near the end of the hall, he saw a figure sitting and leaning on a wall close to the window. Without further thoughts, he immediately walked up and upon recognizing the person, he said his greeting. That’s where it all started.

He sat there, thinking back to that moment stuck in his head. “No way would I let him know that I was here, alone.” He thought. “That would be way too embarrassing, and perhaps weird.“ He was putting up a façade all day, up until that very moment, and then he decided to bring it down. At least, that was better than exploding, because repression and explosion, he experienced them before, and it was awfully depressing. And there, he started weeping for the very first time since he did not know when. He poured his heart out, and the stuffiness that he felt all day just vanished gradually. After a minute or so, he started hiccupping.

The pain subsided with time, the tears dried out and with a calmer self, he brought his knees up to his chest, wrapping his arms around it. He tried to reason with himself. If Jaejoong liked him back, then great! But if Jaejoong doesn’t, he will be very much fine.  Completely fine.

His peripheral vision gave its share, and someone was seen, who stood steady facing him. Surprised and anxious, his face quickly raised up, and his eyes met that person he was longing for. That spot he wanted to hide in, that very spot that created a source of comfort for him, was the place he dreaded the most of being found, by the person the memory belonged to.

“Hi... Jae’, he said as he quickly darted his eyes away. A reply was heard. “Hi”, and without further actions, he became perplexed and looked back up. Again, he met Jaejoong's eyes, and the unfortunate person he was, their eyes were locked. Unexpectedly, a smile crept up his face, and he instantly looked down. He was tongue tied, oh so unfortunate. “Why are you still here?” he asked. There was no answer. “Why are YOU still here?” his crush replied… not so much a reply, but more of the repetition of an identical question asked previously. It was his turn to reply, no answer. They just happened to have another little moment of shared eye contact, but this time, both were smiling. Shortly after the silent moment, chuckles were heard. Chuckles turned into laughter and Changmin wasn’t sure what was going on. In fact, he hadn’t a clue why the moment felt so awkward, but… He knew, he just knew that it was the start of his heart mending yet again.
End.
