So, today I got my first parking ticket. Two, actually. Yesterday evening I came home from work with a few bags of groceries, plus I was starving and tired, so I opted to park in the lot across the street then put my car back in it's real spot once I'd eaten dinner and the sun had gone down so I wouldn't have to walk back in the opressive heat. You can probably see where this story is going.... I completely forgot that my car was not in its rightful spot, and did not remember until approximately 6 pm tonight as I was walking back from CRCE and had an "oh shit!" moment. Alas, I returned to my car only to find one $20 ticket for being parked there overnight, and another $10 ticket for the meter being expired (aka never paid in the first place) all day today.
Now. That's pretty much stupid enough for one story, right? Oh no. It gets better.
Last night at approximately 3:30 am, I was looking out the window onto Goodwin and watching the street sweeper go by. At this time, I noticed a car in the lot across the street, and thought "Ooh, that person better move their car soon before they get a ticket." Yep. You guessed it. That was of course my car sitting there all by its lonesome in the middle of the night, and I didn't even recognize it (or move it, obviously).
Soo, two strikes against me (and $30 out of my already meager paychecks).
The End.
