So lately i have been down and haven't been cooking at all. But yesterday, my parents really wanted me to cook something. But the dish they wanted me to make which was my "Meia Desfeita de Balchalhau" I didn't have the ingredients for! So I had to improvise and I really liked how it turned out!
Ingredients:
1.5lbs Halibut
.5 Orange pepper
3 Hard boiled eggs
.5 large onion
2 cloves garlic
2 cans of chickpeas
2 tbs Hungarian paprika
1 tbs red pepper
1/2 cup of white wine vinegar
1/2 olive oil
1/2 lemon juice
Directions:
Start out by making sure you boil your eggs and leave them on the side. Then in a large, deep pan put in 1/2 cup of olive oil at medium. Chop 1/2 a large onion and 2 cloves of minced garlic and put them in the pan and leave them to cook until they are soft and cooked through. Then chop the orange pepper put it in the pan. While they are cooking, rinse the halibut and sprinkle some paprika on it and put it in the oven at 350 F. Now depending on how thick the fish is and how strong your oven is I recommend leaving it for 7-10 minutes if the fish is thin and 12-14 minutes if it is very thick. While the fish is cooking add, 2 tablespoons of paprika and 1/2 cup of white wine vinegar and 1 tablespoon of red pepper to the orange pepper, onion garlic pan. After add the hard-boiled eggs without the shell and mix it and then add 2 cans of chickpeas leave it while the fish cooks. Take out the fish and make sure it is not raw on the inside. If it is not then take it out and put it in the pan and mix it into the pan's sauce. Then squeeze 1/2 lemon to the pan's mixture. Leave it to cook on low for about 8 minutes. Then serve.
