(no subject)
there is nothing more endearing than a half-asleep kiss in the middle of the night. ahh, being sappy is so cliche, but i'm over it.
i watched half nelson last night. i liked it, although it was slow and full of way too much broken social scene. i like ryan gosling. i liked him before he was cool. breaker high? i say yes!
i watched an nfb documentary from sometime around 1965 about leonard cohen (in his pre-musician days). i never realized that he was bubbly and full of joy in his twenties. listening to him do readings makes me want to find more of his poetry. it's difficult to gather the motivation to analyze a work when the writer himself has such a disdain for literature in academia:
"people sitting around in small classrooms, their hands bloody with commas. they get older and the ages of the poets remain the same, twenty-three, twenty-five, nineteen."
