I am SO writing a complaint letter..
so I called this morning to ask about upgrading to First Class (I got my period and was really crampy and wanted to pay a bit extra for more seat and leg room) and they said to upgrade same day when I am already checked in, they'd have to cancel my current ticket/charge me change fee/rebook at first class rate. The girl on the phone gave me that option and was like "but that's pretty ridiculous. just go ahead and ask at the desk. first class has 8 open seats so you can ask if you can pay to upgrade there."
so I get to the airport and there's a guy in front of me .. i guess he gets a first class ticket and then steps to the side. there were 2 women working the desk. the one called me up and I handed her my boarding pass and asked if there were any upgrade options. she looked at me like blink and said "What?" and I asked again if there were any upgrade options I could pay for .. she looked at the woman next to her and the other woman took and looked at my boarding pass and then looked at me and said all snarky "not for YOU" and just held my boarding pass back out at me. I was like blink blink um okay .. and the guy next to me was smirking.
wtf? not for me? WTF. I felt so humiliated. I don't know why it was "not for me".. if it's because I'm not Elite status, she could have simply said "sorry, our upgrades are only available for our WorldPerks Elite members" but no. she was all snarky and made me feel so embarrassed and humiliated.
