Guess whose birthday it is ?
It's Belgium's National Day today - 21th July. Today Belgium received her first King Leopold I.
A lot had to happen for Belgium to have her very own King (and independency), of the Five Great Powers of Europe only France stood behind Belgium for her to get recognized, the rest of the Great Five were against it because not shortly before France had the Napoleonic Wars and everyone still didn't trust France around that time, Belgium becoming her own country would mean France would get closer to attacking England if he would ever start another war.
After a while, four of the Great Five agreed that Belgium could become her own country, the one against it was Austria and he simply thought it was too early for her.
eventually the Great Five (France, England, Prussia, Russia and Austria) had to come together since Netherlands refused to sign it's acknowledge of Belgium becoming independed. A war was threatened. Prussia and England and France loomed over his shoulder and he had no choice, cause taking one Great Five on would already be difficult but three ? Impossible. Especially with coming new power Germany.
Belgium received her independency, the threaty of London which meant all European powers would recognise and guarentee her independence and neutrality. England also promised to go to war as soon as another country dared to attack Belgium and start a war, and soon after we had the First World War and England kept his promise.
To celebrate today I'll scan one of my doujinshi's. : D
The first one is a Spain/Belgium R18. Belgium thinks back of her time with Spain and little Romano. She misses him.
The second one is with Netherlands, Spain and Romano, Spain and Romano come to visit Belgium and Netherlands.
The third one is with Denmark and Netherlands being BFF and scarying everyone else(other nations and humans). They're on a date with their girlfriends together. Denmark/Fem!Norway bonus.
