looking back on the life she's lived
mistakes she's made
regrets she has
memories she retained
friendships that are still alive.
there's very little shed do differently
relationships that have ended
become happy experiences after so long
things she's said have hopefully been forgotten
exciting moments are still vividly awakening
and horrible tragedies are still reoccurring dreams
to never be erased
she's always thought nothing like this would ever happen
not something like this
not this devastating
not to her
life seems to surprise her in every aspect everyday
whether she wants it to or not
Why did it take something so drastic
to make her see
make her see how good she had it
when she thought it was so wrong
remembering why she was the way she was
did it honestly matter that much
enough to physically hurt herself
maybe at the time for the situations at hand
but now its different
I never said better
I never said worse
life is twisted
it sways with dips and hills
don't leave out valleys
highs and lows and in betweens
these days more lows than the others
she doesn't know how to handle her emotions
break downs occur to speratic moments
sometimes something said triggers a memory
maybe something she reads
or when her mind wanders
not an uncommon thing
causes an emotional breaking point
tears stream down her plain pale face
as she replays everything about that night in her head once again
its never going to go away
or leave her alone
let her be
at the same time she never wants to forget
don't tell her to not talk about it
don't tell her not to think about it
the only way to help is to let her talk
spill her mind before it gets worse
memories of yesterday remembered by some
and embedded into others
that night changed her life
she’ll never be the same
but maybe she's better this way
everything is still so confusing
unable to distinguish one finger from another
even when they are pushed upon her face
days bleed into the night
she cant tell the difference
yet she doesn't seem to care
all that matters is that she's still got him
at least for a little while longer
He answered her prayers
