The Fremont trip was a blast! I was ready to leave the second I got into work at 7am! So that when 3:30p came around I was out the door and on my way.
So the first thing I realize I'm missing is my compact, and I'm picky about having that since it evens out the slight colour difference my concealer creates and seeing as I have a little acne flare up I really wanted to have that coverage...so I had to stop in Gilroy for a compact...but first a nice story.
I stopped in Casa de Fruita for a short break, and to pick up the much need Garlic Q sauce. Well when I got off traffic seemed to be okay, no slow downs going west...but when I got back on traffic was really backed up! So I'm thinking it's just the numbskulls waiting till the last minute to get in the turning lane to Hollister and the turning lane to Hollister being long cause traffic almost always seems to get delayed there. So I get past the Hollister 156 turnoff and the speed picks back up for a bit....but 2 miles down the road it's back to 10mph! And I'm sitting there thinking "WTF this better not go all the way to the 101!" As I get closer I can see some smoke over the hill...so I figure gawkers slowing down to see a brush fire or something. Getting closer I thought I saw, over the hill, some small flames on the hillside, thus confirming my previous opinion. Coming around the bend I see flames completely engulfing an old van! And everyone is going slow because it's just on the other side of a cement barracade, it's a 2 lane road and there's no shoulder on the other side...and everyone gawking at the flaming vehicle! As I drive by, my truck no more than 3 feet away from the flames, I can feel the heat through the cab and ac. Further down the road the first CHP I've seen on the whole trip thus far is trying to turn the 2 lane road with no shoulders into a 3 lane, what fun! And later down the road I see the second CHP that has completely stopped traffic eastbound...so here's where I'm thinking about how lucky I am for having got thru before that CHP made it over to stop westbound traffic! A couple miles down the road is when the first of the 3 fire trucks went past me...and then the fire marshall.
After that I stopped in Gilroy got my compact and made it up to Fremont, via the 680, with little problems...680 got a little slow in Fremont, but not bad.
Chris offered me Nessa and the bed, (yeah go ahead and think all the perversions you want ) while I stayed for the weekend. I wasn't going to accept at first, but that was a damn comfy bed so Chris had to learn a tough lesson about making offers and living with them. I think he really regretted it after our trip into the city on Saturday!
On our way in Saturday, we left the station around noon, and we saw a Burning Man Festival being setup in Oakland (not sure if it was Oakland so I'm taking that assumption right now) ... It looked so COOL, though I thought Burning Man was done in the desert? Maybe just an exhibition?
San Francisco was great! We walked from the Civic Center to Japantown and Kinokiniya....love that place! Then the bus back to Stockton st. and walked all the way down Chinatown. It was great checking out all the little shops, we didn't eat much at the bakeries since we wanted to save room for dinner at Bubba Gumps, but we did have a some bao. Nessa and I got our Chinese names carved into stamps. and then we eventually walked down to Pier 39 to the end and food at Bubba Gumps. After much grubbing and a little alcohol we decided to make our way back home...well it was already dark outside! The bus stop was crowded and there didn't seem to be any buses coming so when the 2nd limo came we decided to pay the 5 bucks to get there faster.
OMG! That limo was an experience all by itself! The driver had to be Certifybly Insane! First he kept insisting, in an accent I can't classify beyond european, that he seated 45 japanese business men in the back of the limo so we had to squish in and fit 10 people or more in the back and 2 more in front with him...full grown adults here, plus our personal effects! Then he was trying to be funny and kept asking this one guy to put on music...and he put on some music, you're the black guy you should know music, put on some music! And telling us how he not really a limo driver, he's a striper! And he doesn't really need our money because he gets $100 just for having his ass slapped. And all us women are beautiful! I'm a beautiful lady, Liz is a beautiful woman, Nessa is a beautiful lady, these other girls are beautiful, and he loves us all! But he doesn't really love us because he has 2 girlfriends that are 21! And that's not even mentioning his maniac driving abilities...good thing my back was too him and I couldn't see where he was going, but it was crazy! Seriously I think that was a great $5 ride to end my day!
Took the BART back from there and saw that Burning Man festival as it was going on....looked so GREAT!
I had a pain in my hip from all the walking so I took some meds and pretty much crashed after that.
Had a lazy day Sunday and then came back.
I missed getting to see Tessa though! She was sick and didn't want to get anyone else ill...but man I was just so damn tempted to go over there and give her a hug and wish her better. I even called on Sun before I was going to go over there but I thought I heard her mention she was at her mom's doing laundry so that killed that idea...and if I heard Tessa wrong then SHIT! Next time! Must see Tessa!
Stopped on the way home and took some pictures of the late sunset...though I didn't have my tripod so pretty much all of them came out blurry, but check my photo gallery in the next few days I think one of them may be going up.....ahh hell I'll just post when/if I do load it.
So yeah, pretty much crashed when I got home...then had to put some things away before I could happily go to sleep.
friends,
