Boss gave me the phones and never took them back. Since the phone never rings when I am given the phones I never have to answer them and therefore didn't know that the outside ring didn't come through on my phone, the in-house ring did. Therefore I answered with Hello, not bothering to glance at the screen on the phone. Of course Mr. Boss' Brother was calling. Then he had a bad attitude with me because of my lack of phone ettiqute, saying hello instead of a proper business greeting. I was still confused about the phones but now that it wasn't a customer or whatever you want to call them, I was relieved. Of course, at that point I said (b/c I thought Boss was in the potty still, though confused because I thought she had come back) can you hold on because I'm not sure if she's still in the bathroom. Now, this is her brother, of course I could have said she might be away from her desk, of course I could have, but I didn't. I was still scattered and trying to figure out what was going on, and it was her BROTHER, not a customer. Then he started telling me that "you should never tell the boss's bathroom habits." After attempting to transfer him to Boss who wanted me to tell him that she'd call him back. He started asking me who I am, if I'm "someone's daughter," and telling me again that I shouldn't tell someone if she's in the bathroom (which I know, but I already explained why I did that) and that I should answer with a greeting. He then proceeded to give me examples of greetings. Quite condescending. Though I tried to explain the confusion and I appologized, he was still a jerk. This does not make me like Boss or Boss's brother more than I already do (or rather, don't like them). So yes, things are holding up well. It is great fun. Yes, things are quite quite under control here.
