I think watching Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova win Best Original Song tonight has made the top of my list of favourite Academy Award moments. Once was such a beautiful movie, simple and truthful and lovely, and "Falling Slowly" had heaps more heart than all the other nominated songs put together. Seeing those two win was absolutely delightful

I missed the Oscars and tried to track down the performances on youtube. I was sincerely worried that Once was going to become some huge fad, but thankfully the "I-am-fifteen-and-love-the-Rent-movie" crowd is really, really offended that Once beat the songs from Enchanted. I don't want them to get their Disney on my sophisticated and heartfelt musical drama anyways.
