Reunion Dinner

Yesterday Hubby and I had a little argument. He insisted that I had to join his family for reunion dinner before going back to my own place for our reunion dinner. But I refused to because
No. 1: I only finish work at 1pm and my family starts dinner pretty early, about 5 to 6pm and I like to help my mum prepare the stuff for dinner.
No. 2: I don't like to eat too much on CNY eve coz I don't want to end up with a big tummy on CNY. It's very ugly and it will ruin my dress.
No. 3: I DON'T WANT to eat with anybody else on CNY eve other than MY OWN family.

So what if his bro's gf joins them for the RU every year? It does not mean that I have to follow suit. Moreover, we have not gone thru the customary wedding so there's no need for me to eat with them.

Speaking of which, this year's CNY is very special for me. Though I usually love CNY but this year, I am approaching it with mixed feelings. This will be the last year:

1. I have reunion dinner with my family on CNY eve. From next year I will have to join my in-laws *groans* Somehow I only like to eat with my family coz the feeling is just so different. Ya, most probably my family will have the reunion dinner on the 29th night (i.e. the day before CNY eve) but it is just not the same! =(

2. I can collect ang pows *double groans*, from next year onwards I will have to go buy a bigger bag to fit in all the ang pows I need to give out.

3. I can go visiting with my family. I think my sis will definitely be bored coz usually we will entertain each other at our relatives' places (coz we don't know some of them well). I will definitely miss the gossiping with my sis.

I wonder if I will still look forward to CNY from next year onwards. Maybe I will do when our own house is ready =). Oh, I heard that block of flats is built till level 19 already *yay* 2 more storeys to go. I think the flats will be ready for handover to the occupants by end of the year *cross fingers*.

lovenest, cny
