You make me new, you are making me new

Good morning, Lord. What a beautiful morning. I feel good. A nice jog with Bo, a chai latte, and the laptop on the front stoop in the shade and breeze before the sun shifts around. It smells fresh and warm and alive out here.

I love my Saturday mornings. And Jeff and I have a date night planned for this evening, which is another nice thing to look forward to.

Thank you for the small pleasures and reliefs of this life. Thank you for the beautiful trembling clematis on the railing. Thank you for my husband's good spirits. Thank you for Bo's eager companionship. Thank you for the sweet stillness punctuated by birdsong. Thank you for the youthful smell of dried sweat and chlorophyll and sunbaked bark... (I guess this is "youthful" to me because the combo of scents reminds me of playing outside in summers past.)

Thank you for each precious day. Some feel more precious than others. Sometimes I'm in a hurry to put a wearisome day behind me. But they are all precious, and I'm grateful for a time-out to remember that.

Please bless my creative endeavors today, as well as my housewifely ones. It's always a mixed bag at best; help me to be thankful in both callings. The "enlightened" and the mundane. Both can bless and teach me, and I can become more fully me by doing both. (However, laundry and vacuuming just aren't the same as photo development and album design. I know you understand.)

Anyway, moving on. I love you. Help me to have a reflecting spirit today and to be loving and respectful toward Jeff.

Love,
Melinda
