We were digging in our garden last Summer and unearthed an unusual stone, which appeared to be some sort of ancient carved head:
There's a lot of historical Viking artifacts around here, so we were getting pretty excited, and were going to contact the British Museum about our find.
I've been too lazy to send the photos to get them verified, and good thing too - I've just looked at the stone carving again, turned it upside down, and realised that it's a little hedgehog:
But the mystery remains: who would carve a little stone hedgehog, and why would they bury it?
