So yeah, as I went to and from my mom's this weekend, I listened to the cd I made for my ed psych presentation aka DJ Erik Erikson and his hot tunes. Without Love from Hairspray is on there, and yeah, I definitely have every part memorized. I could do a one woman interpretation of that song. I think I might sell tickets. Then, i can pay for all of the gas that Gypsy guzzles on this side of the state. OH SNAP! This was hilareous, I nearly slapped her, so I'm coming home next weekend to take care of my dog while my dad is in ATL. I tell my mom that, and she just can't fathom why I would do it. She actually says "Well, your dad should be paying for your gas for you to come back here and go back to school then. I just hate for you to have to spend so much money on gas." WHAT!?!?!?!?!? This coming from the woman who has me use up a quarter of a tank at least twice a week when I'm home during the summer! I told her that he was and she goes "Oh" as in "Oh, well, I didn't think that he would and i thought that would make you not do something for him." Oh silly woman. If I made her pay for my gas money, she'd owe me at least $100.
But we did get a lot done this weekend, well, sort of. I put the kitchen cabinet doors up, put together the entertainment center in the basement and put the stuff in that, which cleared some space in the basement. I put some things in the attic (omg, it was so cold and she actually had me look for rats up there, too. gah). We built a bookshelf for the den. And we did some other little things. I think it's a really good start. She just needs to sort through things in the basement and I think AJ and I can help a lot with that at Thanksgiving. I tried to warn her that she's in for a rude awakening when Dana gets up here, and she didn't really like that as she started yelling at me. Oh well, it wasn't that bad. She actually cooked me dinner both nights I was there. It was really nice, lasagna (my fave) and pork chops, at the table and everything!
But now, I'm at my dad's, getting ready to head back to school. As you can assume by my lack of entries, I am completely swamped with work. Hopefully, now that break is done, I won't be so crazed anymore. I have a feeling it's going to be worse, though. A few of my teachers have told us that the courses are back-ended, meaning all of the "tough" work is at the end of the semester. We'll see if I make Dean's List for the semester, I don't know. Aural Skills and theory are going to be the death of me, I can tell you that much.
Oh snap, I totally just farted. It smells, too. I hate when that happens, but at the same time, I can't help but think it's funny. It has to be a family thing.
DID I MENTION THAT MY DAD'S HOUSE IS FREEEEEEEEEZING!?!?!? I need to learn how to start a fire ASAP!!
