So as this is my last week of work, I thought that I should probably find my work study job for this year. I went on job-net and decided I either wanted something where I sit and swipe IDs like at the library, or something with people since I do not want to do clerical and sit at a desk all day. So depending on my class schedule, I have chosen 2 options, both of which sound really cool:
This one is the front-runner....I get to teach art! How great is that?! Now I just need to finally go and pick up my portfolio...
Help teach up to 50 children, ages 11-13 in after-school program at Beauchamp Library (2111 S. Salina Street). Applicants should have proven ability in one or more of the artistic genres (visual arts, theater, music, dance, and literary arts) and candidates majoring in these fields are highly desirable. Experience working with a diverse group of middle school children in an urban environment is a plus.
$10.00 an hour!
And this is also a good choice:
Duties include: mixing and pouring of alcholic beverages and soft drinks, providing counter service to patrons ordering food, taking, writing, placing and cashing out food and drink orders, re-stocking and cleaning both, during and at end of each shift.
$8.65 an hour and it's right next to my dorm. Basically, its DQ but fancier haha.
Anyway, both of these job opportunities sound exciting, and I guess if they don't work out, I'll just have to fufill my dream and apply to Starbucks...
