How to get through an MRI

Jun 06, 2006 21:10

OK... I admit I am wierd. But my last post reminded me about how to get through waiting while in a long tube of magnets. I've had two MRI's. One was early April 2005 for my shoulder. I quite enjoyed that experience. It was relaxing; I was listening to a ball game instead of music as requested but that was OK. It fealt like I was getting a full body massage. The outcome of that MRI was the knowledge that I had a partial tear of my supraspinatus muscle (part of the rotator cuff).

Well... a few weeks later, after having a really bad car accident, the MRI of my back was not as relaxing. I was in pain ALL over and probably still had a concusion. I felt clostraphobic and had trouble breathing normally. Other folks have described feeling this way in a CT machine and MRI. But I've had both and had never felt that way until that day. I have been wondering for over a year now what song I was singing to calm myself down. I knew it was a Beatle's song but couldn't put my finger on it. When I posted what my mood was like... "it's getting better all the time..." I REMEMBERED! Eureka! That was the song I sang to myself... I had a rough day at work today. I kinda need to remind myself that when the day is done I can sing this song again... it's getting better all the time... betta, betta, be-eh-tah...
