back from random hiatus
I guess I fell into a LiveJournal hole. O_O I was too busy to post for a while, and then when everything calmed down I was already in the habit of not posting.
Strange, but it feels like election day was forever ago. After working on the absentee board for a few days, working the polls was incredibly boring and anti-climactic. Most of the people in our precinct had voted early, so not many people showed up. One of the challengers had brought along some animal crackers for a snack, and to keep my sanity I labeled them and made them into mascots to play with. A donkey and an elephant for the Democrats and Republicans, a bear for the Green Party, and by consensus we chose one of the weird, hard-to-identify ones to represent the Independents. XD
The higlight of the day was watching at home while history was made. I voted for Obama, and I was ecstatic. Ecstatic and so proud of my country and for the opportunity to have been part of the process. And McCain made one awesome concession speech. It was just an amazing night, and I'm still kinda blown away by it. The next day I listened to Rise by the Flobots for what was probably hours on end, ha.
The results on Prop 8 in California were disappointing, but I still have hope. I really believe it's just a matter of time.
OH YEAH AND THE NEW WATCHMEN TRAILER. Filled me with joy, even on the 300th viewing.
I want to revamp my profile page, and maybe get some new icons. And just for fun, I've decided to have Mp3 Mondays and YouTube Fridays in my journal. So we'll see how long that lasts has funs wit dats.
In other news, I am currently enamored with the words pewf and briolette, and the phrase "Crazy like pie."
