July 24th Heading back to DC!
I am currently on the bus heading back to DC. This has been a great weekend and I am so happy people could come out to play with me in New York :)
So yesterday we arrived at Penn Station in New York and me up with Jeff. He helped us navigate our way around New York :) We frat went to Shanghai Tang (for giggles cuz we did a case about them in OB last year and Gloria had never seen the store before) and then went to St Patricks's Cathedral. It was a glorious and baroque-style cathedral and it reminded me of the ones I saw in England. So beautiful inside! After we headed to the Lomogeaphy store in the hipster part of NY and checked out their cameras and cool photo murals. Then we hit up China Town and went to Banh mi Saigon for some Vietnamese street sandwiches for lunch. I still prefer Banh mi Cali in Westminster but that was a good taste of home! From there we got gelato in Little Italy and then walked to Soho for shoppig! We met up with Joe at TopShop where Gloria and I shopped for a good hour. We both bought a jacket and I also found a cute skirt for work with pockets! I spent quite a bit there >.> but it was really worth it b/c TopShop does not exist on our coast! I cannot wait to wear my new coat back in SoCal :) then we met up with Bimbo and walked down broadway to go to Uniqlo (the only two shops that were REQUIRED for me to hit up in Soho were TopShop and Uniqlo). On the way we stopped at Sabon to wash our hands and I had the most amazing scrub for my hands ever. I need to go back and buy the face scrub when I have money >.< after we ran into a guy giving out free sunglasses and the five if us took pictures with it. In Uniqlo I bought another skirt, a dressshirt and a dryfit dressshirt for Fuder :) We then headed to Lomardos for pizza and beer. Hands down best THIN crust pizza EVER! Now I just need to try the other best NY pizza places to say which is truly the best =P From there we walked to Saint Marks and checked out some stores along the way. We hungout until Wah arrived with his friend Dustin and we had dinner at a ramen place. Not bad, still prefer Shin Sen Gumi. Then we went karaoking and met some of Jeff's dormmates and sang for a few hrs :) it was a great way to end my day in NY! Lots of good memories with amazing people, all in about 12 hours! After karaoke, we parted ways and Gloria and I caught the last train back to NJ. We were pooped out but it was an awesome day. And totally worth the pain in planning and money :)
Today we woke up and headed to the Grounds of Sculptures in Trenton. We had a nice brunch at Rat's (totallly reminded me of Ratitouille!) and then walked around the side of the gardens. We didn't go inside since I was pressed for time but we had a lot of fun taking pictures :) I bought some really pretty candles for my parents or my aunt (can't decide who'd use it more practically) and then we headed to the train station. I got on my train and made my bus back to DC! So now it's raining so hopefully it won't be delayed too much.
It has been a great weekend and I can't believe I have to go to work tomorrow >.< Time to put my fun on pause and resume next Friday. Here's hoping for an easy week of work!
