actual conversation between me and a customer today...the abridged version.

"i want paint"
"okay, what kind of paint, inside or out?"
"outside, i want paint."
"what are you painting outside"
"outside"
"no what ARE you painting? stucco, siding, your door"
"house, stucco"
"okay what colour?"
"brown"
"okay you'll have to choose a brown"
"I want brown"
I take them to the wall to choose the colour
he picks a colour
"i want 5-gallon"
"sir, I can't make you a five gallon the colour you chose is too dark, I can only make it in one gallon pails"
"how much for 5 gallon?"
"sir, you can't get this colour in a 5 gallon, it's too dark, only one gallons"
"only one gallons, why?
"5 gallons only come in light colours, your brown is too dark to mix"
"so no 5 gallon"
"that's right no 5 gallon"
"why"
"the colour you want is too dark to make in a 5 gallon, they don't make 5 gallons in dark colours, you can only get it in one gallons"
"so only one gallons, no 5 gallons"
"yes sir that's correct"
"no 5 gallon"

at this point i wanted to shoot myself in the head to end MY misery!

the no 5 gallons thing went on for about 15mins.....
