just not wanted to go home? I mean i'm sitting here at my boyfriends desk, not wanting to go home, even though he's at school and i'm basically by myself in this house (Mike & Nicole are here but they're doing other things). Baby shower gifts are so easy.... what you do is you pick out the most obscure things that no one else thinks of. Like those little squeeze things that pick a baby's nose... and little baby nail-clippers... What else? Ummm... Get the mom a book of short stories, maybe? Lord knows she won't have time to read anything lengthy anymore! Maybe "Chicken soup for the mothers soul" or something equally corny.
Make sure you write a note in it that says something along the lines of that "I got you short stories because I know you won't have time to relax and read novels anymore!"... I dunno. OR, you can get something memorabilia ish. OR! You can make her a scrapbook where she just has to just put in the pictures as they come. Like make pages, and have little frames on each page for whatever it is that people scrapbook for. 1st time they sat up, 1st birthday, etc etc etc. I'm sure you're better at that part then I am!
Or, you could get her a painting of a mother and daughter - something that is soothing and relaxing. Or maybe some gift certificates to wal-mart for diapers and stuff.
I'm coming up with all these ideas because I can't volunteer to go with you ;)
