The cover itself doesn't bother me, but it doesn't say "The Smashing Pumpkins" like the last three. It's just "Smashing Pumpkins" like the first two. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it.

I wonder is the Statue of Liberty wading in water is supposed to symbolize global warming and the melting of the polar ice caps. Maybe that's why their 7/7/07 show is at an enivronmental fundraiser. :p

Yeah, I knew it was going turn into some kind of political or environmental statement. Yet another reason that I will not like this album.

Aaron said that it looks like a Rage Against the Machine album cover.

yeah, that's what i thought.

I don't mind it being political... because i dont think it'll really come across obviously in the music like it does with rage or nin. unless billy has become blunt.

I just hope it's better than his solo effort and that he doesn't try too hard to fit into the mainstream. I guess I don't mind the political aspect as long as it's not obvious, like you said.

I'm very very worried about his vocals. on the solo album he was trying too hard to have like 'good' vocals... it just did not work.
I don't want him to do that with the old songs because it would ruin them i think.

Yeah, my problem is that I think he'll trail too far from the original Pumpkins sound, try to turn it into something else. The vocals worry me too. In that clip from Tarantula, he sounded..."off."
