So I figured it might be good to start writing again. I went back through some of my old posts, and just reading them took me right back to where I was when I originally "penned" them. Since I know some of you still check this, I figured I'd put my 2013 Goal progress on here.
2013 Goal Update:
My goals are:
1) To wear my new Fitbit Zip at least 328 days this year (90%, if you don't include yesterday because I didn't own it then). (what can I say, I'm a data junkie)
Yes, I think I only missed 2 days in beginning of the year...this is a life habit now and I don't think I'll miss this goal at all. I highly recommend this little device if you are trying to lose weight or just be more fit in general. It makes you more conscious of the activity you are doing (or aren't) and helps in creating new habits. I am officially down 5 pounds since January. Not too shabby!
2) Volunteer at the Aquarium at least 200 hours from Jan 1 to Dec 31.
Well, according to the VIC I'm sitting at 153:36 for this year. And I have some good news on this front. I just accepted a Behind the Scenes role in Fish and Inverts! I start on Sunday, Oct 6. So...with the 21 hours I'll get in Oct, the minimum of 12 in Nov, I think I will hit this goal for sure.
3) Go play bar trivia with friends at least once a month, if not more.
I honestly have lost track of this...I think I've gone probably about 7 or 8 times this year? I'm doing okay.
4) Donate blood at every NASCO Blood drive we have this year.
We have had 1 blood drive this year (June 18) and will have one in November, which I'm signed up for...so goal accomplished!
5) Go see my sister and Sean at least once.
This is accomplished.
6) Go to Jekyll Island during sea turtle season, and hopefully see some nesting or hatching.
Accomplished!
7) Laugh as much as possible. (okay, I realize this isn't a SMART goal like the others, but it's still a good one to have).
Yeah, this is still happening.
8)Read at least 5250 pages worth of good novels (this is 15 books at 350 pages each...Les Mis is on my list, and it's massive, so I had to go by pages). Well, I've been reading a lot...not sure they are all "good" books. Current page count is definitely over 3500.
Pretty much knocking it out!
I know I added the goal of getting my passport by the end of the year. I have an appointment on Oct 8 to turn everything in...as long as the government shutdown doesn't interfere. So...should be good!
How is your 2013 going?
