Look at me, I'm at the Taj Mahal!
Well, hello there, flist. So yeah, I got back from India about...three weeks ago, and it's taken me this long to update. I spent most of the first week just recovering (I picked up a cold halfway through the trip, and plus I was exhausted from having been constantly on the go), and since then I have basically been lazy.
India was amazing. Overwhelming. We spent most of our time on company visits, but we also had some free time for sightseeing and stuff. The very first day was our trip to the Taj -- maybe not the best timing, since all the first-year students had written an operations management exam in the morning, gotten on a plane to Delhi in the evening, and then we had a 4am wakeup call the next day so that we could get to the Taj before it got too hot. And then I had to come back to the hotel in the evening and finish off my last paper. Yay.
I didn't take too many pictures, but I was surrounded by people with cameras, so I'm going to collect everybody else's photos and put them up, with accompanying travelogue.
I just have to stop this whole procrastination thing. It's weird not having constant deadlines anymore; I kind of don't know what to do with myself. Actually, that's not true. I have a massively long to-do list, but since none of it has to be done NOW NOW NOW OMG like during the school year, it's easier to just spend the whole day on my couch watching soccer.
Other stuff, in no particular order:
- I still don't have a job for the summer, but I'm looking, and I do have an interview scheduled for Wednesday. Fingers crossed.
- Finished off my last two projects for the year last night -- technically, my first projects for *next* year, since they were part of the study tour, which counts as an elective. Yay!
- I've been recruited for the Rotman ultimate frisbee team. I've never played before, but they need girls, and I figured I could at least come out and run around. First game was last week, and it was surprisingly fun. Also I do not suck.
- My niece has started walking, and she continues to be awesome. I spent some time at my sister's when I first got back, and got to play babysitter for a day, which was great. Her favourite toys at the moment: sticks and rocks.
- I saw the new Star Trek movie and it rocked. (I suppose it helps that I'm not all rabid-fangirl-y about the canon). Would totally see it again.
- Got my marks back for the final round of exams, and I pretty much kicked ass. Go me.
There was probably other stuff, too, but it will come to me later. Anyway. Pictures to come!
