Dear Bryan: I am at your service

Ok, so I talked to John and told him about my sitch on the 20th and he sounded really disappointed when he told me he was pulling me out of this training class. Fortunately I'll have more time to study and I'll have some experience by the time I actually go to Charlotte from November 7-18. It'll be the same thing as was planned before; class Monday-Friday, return Friday night then go back Nov. 14 (my birthday!) and stay until the 18th. I think I'll fly out the first week then drive the second so I'll have a car after I've seen the city and have some sort of clue what's around that's worth visiting. Wanna hear something funny? John thinks I'm Sam's girlfriend (well, as he put it, "lady friend") BUT SAM'S GAY and nobody at the airport knows yet. I don't know how willing I am to take on this role, either, because when he talks about his boyfriend, Justin, he uses the term 'girlfriend' so no one asks questions. The worst part is, he usually only talks about the things Justin does that piss him off so now I'll be looked at as this horrible girlfriend that just wants to work with him to keep an eye on him. Oh well.

Yesterday was very weird; Peter found out he wasn't going to D.C. this weekend and I found out I wasn't going to Charlotte and we called each other at the exact same time to tell one another the news. How ironic is that?!?!? Also, Abe left me a voicemail saying "I would advise you to call me back" so I called 309 and he asked me if I had to work at the airport today. I said yes, but that I'd be free by 6 (I knew that's the only reason he called at all) then he asked about next week and I said I started on Monday at 9 a.m. and they want me to work Wednesdays-Sundays so the only day I would have free for sure would be Tuesday. He replied, "Okay, then Tuesday morning will be your last day because I need to find someone else who can fulfill their obligation of shifts so I'll see you tomorrow, bye." Is it me or did I just get fired?

Now, Bryan: as soon as I'm in the database, I'd give it a week or two, I can travel. I need an employee number to log in to the system and book flights from home. It's great because I get to see all the little details no one else sees, like how many seats the flight has and how many seats they're selling, plus I can upgrade to first class for $20 at the click of a mouse, and the only caveat to that is I have to get pretty dressed up. The point is twofold: 1) Once I've achieved this status I can fly whenever I want so you'll just have to say the word and I'll be there. 2) I've already planned on my first trip being to Michigan to see you and a couple of friends, but maybe they'll have to wait for another date since I won't have transportation once I get there and DTW probably isn't the closest airport to MSU. Either way, it'll be fun, I can't wait to have this new freedom.
