It is done. I am officially one of the new TGIFriday's of Roanoke trainers! This Wednesday, Jen (corporate trainer from Chesapeake), Anita, Andre, and I will be training the new class of 21 servers, a few of which are presently hostesses, then Jen will go back to her store and the three of us will take over. I'm so excited, and my parents are, too. Hopefully this means more money in the end. Granted, I have to do classroom from 8-11 a.m. for 4 days, not to mention work closing floor shifts in between, but Marshall and I are going to Richmond to see Mike on Sunday, so I should return from that excursion with a new tattoo, which will make it all worth my time.
In other Friday's news, Rick is gone and Brett is the new GM, making Trenda the new kitchen manager (oh, and you better believe ALL the signs in and around the restaurant have been fixed to reflect the changes). Also, the new store in Lynchburg opened up just over a week ago, and I was there for that, too. I went up there last Thursday night for their mock service and got stuck at the door handing out menu cards but it wasn't all that bad for $10 an hour. Saturday they had their grand opening and I stayed from 3:30 'til around 9:30, only that time I got to help out on Micros and garnish drinks at the service bar. That night Brett asked me when I would turn 21 and I was so ready for a "bar talk" from him, and if I'm still with TGIF come November 14, I just might try out bartending. Tom Cruise, watch out!
Lastly, Marshall and Schuyler are no longer friends, let alone acknowledging each other's existence. Marshall said, and I quote: "If you hang out with him that's cool, but I don't want to hear about it. He can't even muster up the balls to say hi to me...and now Stephanie's not talking to me; how could he turn my own blood against me? That fucking bitch...those two and I had so much, but they're willing to let this ruin everything? Fuck both of them..." On a happier note, Ben and I hung out last week. We had dinner at Boston Beanery and did some much-needed catching up, but he was busy and I left after about 2 hours. He did, however, say he had an opening in 4 weeks after his volunteer work at the crisis hotline was over, so he's coming to Roanoke then to go drinking. It really seemed like he's got his shit together, moreso than before, if you can believe that. Good for him.
Anyway, I must get to bed now, but I'd love to hear from everybody, if you haven't posted in a while. Be warned: my internet is fucked up and I'm getting more pop-ups than I can control sometimes. However, all is well in the 'Noke and I officially am no longer a Hooter's girl, which has cut my stress level to almost zero. Hope all is well, and keep an eye out for a post containing new contact information. I am in the process of trying to change my cell phone number and/or my e-mail address!
