When Alicia awoke she saw that her limbs were entwined with those belonging to Kalinda. The latter stirred in her sleep, as if she'd detected Alicia's sudden consciousness, and pressed the bare skin of her back into the chest and belly of her lover. The outer warmth of her flesh set aflame Alicia's heart. Currents seemed to ignite beneath touched skin.
Burrowing through a mass of loose hair Alicia found an ear and whispered into it, "I love you."
Kalinda took Alicia's hands into her own. Tracing them upwards she let them rest above her breasts, where her heart beat its fiercest. "You already know how I feel," she said, smiling. Her eyes remained closed.
"I never get tired of hearing it."
The tips of Kalinda's fingers traced the pointed ends of Alicia's nails, occasionally letting nail meet with the flesh beneath her grip. Weak from sleep she mumbled, "I'll say it then; I love you..."
Alicia softly laughed as she kissed Kalinda's neck. "I want to do something for you. Something different," Alicia said, lowering her head to Kalinda's pillow, and scanning the ceiling in thought. "Let me cook for you."
"Cook?" Kalinda repeated.
"Yeah," Alicia propped herself up by her elbows, "something new."
It was Kalinda's turn to laugh. "You don't need to."
"I want to. You deserve it." She leaned over and kissed Kalinda's bare shoulder. "Come on, get up. We'll go shopping after work."
"OK," Kalinda agreed, "just let me sleep five more minutes..."
Alicia aimed her pillow at Kalinda's head but wisely stopped, stepped out of bed, threw it, and ran from the room.
After work
Alicia and Kalinda walked the aisles of a Kroger grocery store. It was after 8pm and the few people within Kroger's walls seemed to be lost in their own world. Making it, in a way, more personal for them.
They heard music overhead, a mix of anything from Carrie Underwood to the Beatles, and the additional racket a small group of children were making a few aisles over. The kids had brought with them, or found somewhere in the store, an electronic dog that played PSY's Gangnam Style in brief intervals. It seemed that wherever Alicia and Kalinda went the song would slowly follow them.
"So we still need shallots, garlic, oyster mushrooms, thyme..." Alicia read aloud.
"Here, give me that," Kalinda said, taking the list from Alicia's hands. "You push."
"Is that an order?" Alicia leaned over the handle of the cart, smiling into Kalinda's face.
Kalinda smiled back. "Yes. I'm afraid that you'll take out that noise maker."
"I swear, I will resist the temptation," Alicia said, raising her hand.
Suddenly, as if on cue, they heard: Hey, sexy lady an aisle over.
"Here, sexy lady, take this," Kalinda said, handing Alicia a bottle of olive oil. "Gee, thanks," Alicia said, looking the bottle over.
Kalinda crouched to the bottom shelf in search of more exotic spices.
"What do you think, white or red wine?" Alicia asked, watching her.
"Both. The recipe states white, but we both know you can't do without red."
"Yes, yes..." Alicia tapped the handle of the cart, "you know me so well."
Kalinda approached with several little bottles of spice in her grasp. Placing them in the basket she looked into Alicia's eyes and smirked. Turning, she made her way down another aisle out of sight.
At home
"Careful, it's really hot,' Alicia said, lowering a plate to the table. She walked to the counter, scooped out from enough for herself and took a seat beside Kalinda.
"Thanks," she managed, once she'd swallowed a moutful of wine. "Wanna try an appetizer while its cooling?"
"Appetizer?"
"Yeah, give me a minute." Kalinda rose and opened the refrigerator. She removed two packaged articles from the freezer. Shuffling forward she reclaimed her seat, handing one small package to Alicia.
"Jolly Rancher popsicles?!"
"Well, it's something new," she said, tearing the wrapper from her popsicle and passing the cool ice over Alicia's lower lip, "that's all that matters."

I don't think Kalinda would want her air of mystique to disappear after becoming involved with Alicia, so sometimes she only melts on the inside.
Thank you again.

I had to Google Jolly Rancher, being an Aussie and all... "Taste the rainbow!" was all I could think of! Such a bad girl Kalinda! Don't you know dessert is for AFTER dinner?
And what did Alicia cook? I have no idea.
And I also particularly loved these lines:
"Here, sexy lady, take this," Kalinda said, handing Alicia a bottle of olive oil.
"Both. The recipe states white, but we both know you can't do without red."
Thanks for filling my prompt!

I tried to look online for the different brands of popsicles Kroger carries but they don't have a list available on their site, so I went to Wal-Mart's website and found Jolly Rancher. It was either that or Hello Kitty and, well.... no. Kalinda could have bought them as a joke but they didn't even look good.
Alicia made a thick soup of mushrooms. I know it's not very inventive but I don't think she'd want to fix anything experimental. I thought she could pour it over fettuccine once it was done.
Thank you for telling me which lines you liked. <3 The whole thing about the PSY toy happened to me in real life, but it was in a desolate K-Mart store.
It was my pleasure to write something. I'm so happy you found something you liked in my rambles.

Nice job, especially the grocery shopping piece. I hate grocery shopping, but could completely see them flirting over the olive oil, and totally buy Kalinda sneaking something very junky (like JR popsicles) into the shopping basket, even if just to bug Alicia (or tease her with).
Thanks for writing!

Please don’t edit the first part! Cuddling in bed in the morning and K saying “I love you” while still being half asleep is perfectly fine by me! And I have no doubt that with Alicia, she would quickly get used to this lifestyle -- count on Kalinda to spice it with a few antics of hers though ^^
Thanks for writing this lovely fic!

I'm so glad that you don't think it's too over-the-top. That makes me feel better. Thank you so much for reading my story. <3
I think Kalinda would act completely different with Alicia if she was in a relationship with her. If she knew she was forgiven of everything and had Alicia's love it would change her. She couldn't always show her tough side or she wouldn't seem real.
Thank you again.
