Okay LJ veterans, I need some opinions/advice.
In the last few ficathons I've hosted at my journal, I've disabled custom comment pages because A. some people find the white-on-gray colors of my journal style more difficult to read, and B. for some reason my style doesn't include navigation buttons at the bottom of the page, so readers have to scroll back up to the top to go to through multiple comment pages. So the generic layout was more user-friendly for these purposes.
BUT. Now that LJ has decided not to care about what people want, the generic layout no longer includes subject lines on comments -- subject lines that are EXTREMELY USEFUL in ficathons for distinguishing prompts from fic, for indicating warnings and triggers, etc. etc. However, my custom style has retained these.
So the question/s: A. is anyone aware of a journal style that that is easy-to-read, easy-to-navigate, AND has subject lines, that I could temporarily switch to for ficathon purposes? and if not, B. which is preferable or least annoying: Better readability/navigation, or the manageability that comes along with subject lines?
Any thoughts about this or the benefit of experience people have with it would be very much appreciated!
