Disclaimer aside, I know it's useless to say you shouldn't have been worried, but you shouldn't have, the play between present and past was seamless. They fed perfectly off one another.
I particularly loved Alicia's not realizing K was her best friend until after everything happened and the subtle ease (the line about the flood especially) they have in the present.
Lovely job hun :)

Thanks, dear. For your lovely comments and putting up with me when I'm all fic-emo and "Porn is HARD. I'm just going to delete it ALL." Sometimes it just takes awhile to understand how everything fits together.
Hope you're enjoying vaca! And hope you're ready to rock that ficathon upon your return.;)

But the pace and actual ending was just great, perfect, so I really can't complain, either. lol
Where to start? In no order at all, I loved:
The therapist. Or rather the concept of therapy and how badly Alicia would be at doing it. And the therapist's utter lack of surprise. lol
The timelines, jumping in and out, coloring and revealing each other.
That the sex was (nor surprisingly, from you) about more: Kalinda being an anchor for Alicia losing her footing, in the shower and out. And Kalinda losing herself and her composure with Alicia. (And yet, the the sex was hot. lol To quote Kalinda, "...really fucking hot").
That you have Kalinda swearing. Cause that's just a redundant loop of fucking hotness right there.
How they both just stumble through this, seemed real and halting and not perfect, so true and vital and scary.
Yeah. I loved it. :) *claps*

My Fav (I put scarlet ribbons and tiny trophies around it):
Like how it was by no means her first thought, after everything fell apart; but came later, unbidden, petty and possessive and jealous in a horribly backward way:
‘You’ll fuck my husband. You’ll fuck people, all kinds of people, because you ‘do that.’ But you never, not even once, tried to fuck me.’
Now, what the hell was she supposed to do with that.
*runs off to listen to more radio!*

And AWHS, you saw all the shower sexytiemz symbolism.
Kalinda swearing during sex is totally unspoken canon. I refuse to believe anything else.
Also glad the interwoven timelines worked for you. I fought with the concept/execution for awhile and still hadn't really decided how I felt about it, so this gives me more confidence.
In conclusion: THANK YOU for being a fantastic reader.:)

“She and I… we sort of have… a thing.”
Her therapist looked utterly and completely unsurprised.)

I also liked this part: (She was still clutching Kalinda’s shoulders when they finally pulled apart. Kalinda looked dazed in a way Alicia had never seen, disbelieving. Her lipstick was worn off, and Alicia realized it was probably all over her own face ( ... )

On my wishlist for S3 is Will and/or Diane getting fed up with K&A being snooty to each other and sending them to therapy if they want to keep their jobs. It. Would. Be. AMAZABALLS.
I refuse to believe that Kalinda wouldn't cry after their first time. She would NOT be able to handle all the feelings. (In a parallel process, I'd probably cry after watching it, too.)
