Okay, I have dropped the ball on compiling/posting TGW S1 rewatch thoughts (rest assured, I've been picking up new details about all those epis that surprise/delight/horrify me), and I have more thoughts about the past two aired episodes than I even know what to do with. I might try to detail those at some point, and also go back and and comment

My gut reaction to the ending of 2x22 was...that it worried me, especially coming right after Kalinda's comment to Will about not needing anyone to confide in. Almost like she'd realized her "mistake" in caring about Alicia, and wouldn't be going there again. And the look to Alicia was saying "OK, I'm here. I'm not running."
However, I don't think it necessarily conveyed a full-fledged bitch-off...she looked disappointed when Alicia looked away. K had tried to escape, couldn't, and had come back not with her tail between her legs, but with her chin up and facing the problem head on and heart closed (for the moment). I do think that was in character.
I also think though that it has been shown very clearly that she is completely gone on Alicia, despite herself. I find it very difficult to believe that she will even be ABLE to be a bitch to Alicia, even if that's what she wants to do. Even Kalinda can't go from sobbing her heart out over someone one minute to being completely indifferent to them the next. She'll crack the moment Alicia needs her help, the moment Alicia stops yelling at her (and making her defensive) and starts showing how hurt she is again.
I also think that having K as a sworn enemy of Alicia will be daft for season 3 - Jackie, Peter, Cary and Kalinda all pretty much hating her? That's half the cast! And we've seen Alicia being unable to forgive Peter...I think that K's story is going to be the forgiveness story, and I think her presumably awful background gives the writers the perfect way to carry that out.

Your thoughts here make me feel better, actually, so thank you for that, too. I mean, it's what I HOPE. I want to believe that now that Kalinda's EPIC LOVE (or, yanno, whatever feeling she has) has escaped the Pandora's box of her cold, cold heart, there's no way she can effectively shove it back inside. And that would be compelling to watch, really; her struggling to do what always came naturally to her before, staying closed off, and just NOT being able to.
But I hate getting my hopes up about something like that.:-\
I don't think Cary hates Alicia, do you think? He doesn't even know yet why Peter's so interested in keeping him. I'm sorta hoping once he realizes that it's to spite Alicia, that'll sit poorly with him. Hopefully not givin' the boy too much credit there.
But yes. I need the return of the presumably awful Kalinda background. So that it can clarify things and so that Alicia can eventually comfort her (ohgoddon'tletcarybethecomforter.)
