Oh how I've missed breakfast club! I've been on TGW hiatus all summer in hopes that I'd have some new perspective when I came back (alas, not much new), but I'm glad we're back.

Of course this article was first thing on my morning after agenda and per the usual, RK just doesn't seem to get it. I mean you have to be pretty obtuse to have missed the Kalicia memo, but let's just pretend he's internet averse and tries not to search for things in his own fandom (which is totally not the case). He's been blatantly ASKED this question so many times - is he really that surprised people counted? For a creative person, he really needs to work on his cover-up storytelling.

As for the episode - I actually really liked it. These are the types of stories I like - where everyone's worlds come together. I thought it was well crafted and it kept me engaged. I liked that they gave Matt Czuchry material that wasn't awkward sex scenes with Kalinda. I liked that Kalinda had some scenes with people I actually enjoy watching her with (Sophia, Bishop, non-sexual Cary). I loved Marissa in this episode. She might be the only offspring storyline I've ever been cool with on this show. I loved Eli. And I at least felt like the A/K phone call (although maybe out of place given their utter lack of interaction prior to this) was what should have happened post Cary having gone missing. I was actually surprised that they didn't find some way to navigate that information w/out the A/K phone call. Like sending Robyn as an intermediary to talk with Kalinda...or something even more bizarre.

But on the whole, I thought it was a solid entry into this season. They've paved the way for quite a few narratives (I'm ignoring the one that probably involves Finn & Alicia) and I'm hoping they actually follow it through.

I loved the ep. When I get frustrated with the big picture, like I did in S4 or S5, I sometimes forget how very, very good the show is at craft. This whole story was put together so well, and has so many possible outcomes that are weird, and complex, and interesting. Kalinda had a lot to do that was in character and made sense. (Also, how the hell did Kelli Giddish fit this into her schedule, seriously? But I'm so glad to see her here!) We're honestly doubting everyone's motivation and words. These are all really good things. How long before Cary's situation hits Peter? And are we really likely to see Alicia and Kalinda in a room?

Good to see your username!

I think perhaps L&O:SVU must go back to shooting a week later than TGW. Because Giddish was available for 3x01 as well, and that was definitely shot after her SVU casting was announced.

RK definitely implied in his live tweets that this was Sophia's only scheduled appearance, but eh, it was delightful to see her face.

Missed ya face!

I thought they did a very good job of it in this episode. Certainly it's something I felt they failed to do convincingly on a regular basis in S5 after splitting the firms.
