Robert and Michelle King were part of the CBS Drama Showrunners Panel at the Television Critics Association Press Tour and received a lot of the press attention. Below are some tweets about it and a couple of articles.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

“@televisionary: “Kalinda… starts to explode in the back half [of the season]. Her story starts crystalizing in the back half of the year.” - RK #TheGoodWife”

“@televisionary: “We knew it was one of those plot points where you stepped the wrong way,” said Robert King re: last year’s Kalinda arc. #TheGoodWife #TCA14”

“@televisionary: “It was a nightmare,” said Robert King of having to rejigger things last season in the wake of shifting Kalinda stuff around. #TCA14”

“@danielletbd: Robert King confirms as season continues, LG & Florrick/Agos' cases will diverge, rather than continue to end up in same court room. #TCA14”

“@danielletbd: "At a certain point then you're repeating yourself so they're going in different directions," Robert King #TheGoodWife #CBS #TCA14”

“@JarettSays: #TheGoodWife is all about the education of Alicia Florrick and that can only happen in the aftermath of seismic changes, RK says #TCA14”

“@televisionary: The Thicky Trick episode was supposed to be about Diane, but Christine Baranski was in London shooting Into the Woods. #TheGoodWife”

There's a piece from Ausiello that includes the above and adds a little more about her and Cary.

“Kalinda was a little bit adrift in the first half of the year,” exec producer Robert King acknowledged Wednesday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. “[But] she starts exploding in the second half of the year. Her story starts crystallizing in the back half of the year.”

King added that the ongoing challenge with Kalinda is “sometimes she can’t live in other stories,” but he’s “aware of where the fans’ heads are out” regarding the character’s marginalization.

Regarding the scene in Sunday’s episode that hinted at a rekindling of a romance between Kalinda and Cary, King said, “It’s a version of the hate that Will and Alica have, especially because they’re at [different] firms now. Can they pursue each other? Can they sleep with each other and make that exist? Is there a Dangerous Liaisons aspect to it? What I liked about it is that Kalinda saw a Cary that had balls and was really attracted to that. So Cary’s going to want to live up to that Kalinda idea of who he is. Cary as a character is sweet, too, but he needs to harden himself.”

Much as he shits me, I do give Ausiello credit for his ongoing Archie pimping and loyalty.

The Hollywood Reporter also has an article, including this bit of bullshitery about integrating Kalinda.

4. Kalinda's story is "crystallizing." Robert admitted that Kalinda "was a little adrift in the first half of the year," but promises that her story "starts crystallizing in the second half of the year." He elaborated further by saying that "the difficulty with Kalinda is she can't live in the other stories" because she tends to ask for "an operatic" arc. "We've been aware of what the fans have said," Robert assured.

Never used to be a problem when JM was prepared to shoot with all the cast... Also, if you want to listen to the fans -- we've been unanimous in calling for A/K back!

I used to defend the Kings and the show a lot, but these days I'm a nervous nellie. I'm really worried that this explosion will be that Kalinda did leak the vote fraud video. One of the few things I've liked about this season was Kalinda *not* engaging in all the acrimony. I'm also tired of the unaddressed elephant.

Yup. It's difficult to live in other stories when you're not allowed on the same set as the lead!

Gosh I wish someone had followed up that comment with a question about the lack of Kalicia scenes. I suspect Jace was the only one present who'd think to ask it, and given I suspect he knows full well why he's not likely to put them on the spot in public.
