Hey hey, everybody! It turns out it's the one year anniversary of this journal for Dani. I swear I thought it was a few days from now, my how the time flies.

"Oooooooooooops! Soooooooooooooorry, Mrs. Maaaalex!" Dani giggled and pressed a hand up to cover her nose. Unfortunately her motor skills were impaired and she ended up smacking herself in the face.
"Ow! Stupid hand!" She glared at the offending appendage like it had betrayed her.
"Geez, Dani, why don't you have a seat?" Chrissy tried hiding her smile as she led Dani over to a table and helped her sit in a chair. She checked her nose to make sure she was all right, then she took the yeoman's drink and set it on the table.
"How much have you had?" she continued.
"Mmmmm, thiiiiiis many!" Dani said, proudly holding up three fingers. Then she looked at them and, frowning, she pulled up one more by grasping it with her opposite hand. "Four."
"Well, do you want to take it easy for awhile, maybe eat something?"
"Nooooooo, no foooood. I want more drinks!" She sat up straight, looking as eager as Rigel when Chrissy was about to give her a treat.
Chrissy sighed, thinking it over. "Ok, listen. You finish this one, and if you promise to stay here, I'll go get you another." One that was easy on the alcohol.
"Ok!" Dani agreed, carefully raising her glass and guzzling down the rest.
Chuckling at the display, Chrissy headed up to the bar and ordered Dani a rum and coke, heavy on the coke, but when she turned back, drink in hand, Dani wasn't at the table.
"Hoo boy, Dani, where'd you go?"
A moment later she had her answer. She heard a squeal that could only belong to her friend and there she was, sitting at the end of a bar with someone from engineering. She was clapping her hands together excitedly as a shot glass was placed in front of her and one in front of the guy. They clinked glasses and downed their shots.
Heading over, Chrissy set the rum and coke down in front of Dani, amused that she was actually spending time with a guy. She would just have to make sure Dani didn't end up leaving with him at the end of the night.
"Drink fairy!" Dani exclaimed, turning to give Chrissy a hug and nearly falling from her stool.
Laughing Chrissy helped set her upright again. "That's me! Though I seem to have misplaced my wings."
"That's ok! I'll use my imagination!" Closing her eyes tightly, Dani imagined just that.
Feeling that he was being ignored, the engineering guy got up and left, so Chrissy tapped Dani on the shoulder and she opened her eyes.
"Sorry to say your friend left."
"Huh? Oh, that's ok." Leaning closer she said in excitement, "I let him buy me a shot! And I talked to him! I never do that."
"Well, alcohol can be magical," Chrissy replied, taking the now vacant stool.
"Ooo!" Dani replied, grabbing her drink. "I want more magic!" Then she started on her rum and coke, heavy on the coke.

Heh, I didn't have Dani do much at the party, but she was dressed as Little Red Riding Hood. And it took forever to find a non-trashy costume on Google Images, because Dani doesn't roll like that.
