Hey hey, everybody! It turns out it's the one year anniversary of this journal for Dani. I swear I thought it was a few days from now, my how the time flies.
I want to thank all of you guys who have welcomed me into Trek RP and have tagged with me over this past year. *hugs to you all*

"Yeah, it's called 'seconde,' or the second parry position. Want me to show you again?"
"Yes, please," she replied, setting her chin in her hand and paying close attention as he explained what he was doing and moved in slow motion. She nodded along, wondering why it looked so hard when sped up.
"And this is the lunge," he continued, raising an arm up and holding his fencing sword out straight. Then quick all a flash he lunged forward, bending a knee and extending his other leg.
"Whoa!" Dani exclaimed sitting back a bit, though he hadn't even pointed the sword at her. "Nicely done!"
"Thanks!" he replied. "Now look, I'll speed things up, since you seem to be catching on quick."
She was about to reply that that was certainly not the case, when he quickly began moving around, this way and that, saying what he was doing as he performed each move.
"En garde! Prime, riposte, seconde, riposte, thrust, tierce, riposte, flick, quarte!" He stepped back to en garde, took a breath, then surged forward, shouting, "Flèche!" It seemed he had forgotten Dani was there, and was making up an elaborate routine with an invisible opponent.
From the doorway, there was the sound of clapping and both turned to see Christine leaning against the doorframe.
"Impressive, Mr. Sulu. Though it would have been less so if you'd impaled my favorite Yeoman."
Hikaru blushed, or maybe his face was just red from the exertion, and he wiped a sleeve across his forehead.
"I would never do that. Besides, the point is dulled."
"Well in any case, I'm here to whisk Dani away for a little girl time. Vous permettez?"
Dani groaned as she stood. "Please, no more French. I'm so turned about I can't tell a riposte from a baguette."
