LJ may be a little over my head... *_*

Hey all.  My name's Jess (aka Sweetiegrrl), and this here is my very first post on LiveJournal.

Yay!  Go me!

Actually, this is quite an accomplishment for me.  I can get by using computers.  You know, Word, Excel, internet browsers... stuff like that.  But LJ has to go and give its users all these options and choices, and me being the perfectionist I am, I couldn't wait to customize my page and make it just right.

Two hours later and here I am.  Woo frickin' hoo.  I had no idea what I was doing, had to keep fixing it over and over again, and even though it looks okay, it should look MAGNIFICENT after the amount of work I put into it.

So, ahem... .

WELCOME TO MY LJ!

I decided to finally join LiveJournal after I decided to start writing fanfic again recently.  I used to write a lot (back when I was *hardcore* Spuffy), but it's been a few years and I was starting to feel like my muse had died.  And then I found a lovely little show called Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Seriously.  Go watch it.  Like right now.

I've never seen an American-made cartoon look so beautiful while maintaining such a diverse cast of complex, well-rounded characters and a story and universe as rich as anything I've ever seen in traditional anime.  Every single character is lovable in his/her own way (except for the Big Bad, natch).

Anyway, I randomly sat down and watched one episode (Western Air Temple, for you Avatards out there), and I promptly fell in love with the main character of the ep (and the show, IMO), Zuko.  His long story of moral ambiguity and redemption made my little heart flutter, just as that storyline does in most other shows I watch (Spike, anyone?).  Plus, the sizzling chemistry I saw between him and another strong, independent female character, Katara, who had hated Zuko then grew to care for him (Buffy, lol), intrigued me as well.

After watching that one episode, I kid you not, I actually went out, purchased all three seasons on DVD, and watched the entire series within one week.  Sometimes my obsessiveness scares me.  Just a little.

So, after I finished the show and everything settled in, I decided I wasn't quite satisfied with how the show ended (I won't reveal any spoilers).  Because of this desire to set the Avatar world right according to my vision of how things should be, I decided to write my own ending to the series.

And thus my muse was miraculously reborn.   ^_^

I set up this LJ to post the chapters to my stories as I finish them.  Overall, I'd very much like this to be a true continuation of the Avatar series in every sense of the word, meaning that the fic I'm working on will actually be an entire season of the show comprised of a season's worth of "episodes".  After I get the first one perfected, I'll post it here, and (if anyone actually reads it) you'll get a better idea of what I mean.

Well, thanks for listening to me ramble on (again, if anyone actually is reading this), and I hope you'll like my fics!

~Jess
