It was an interesting weekend, to say the least. Left for Cape Breton Friday afternoon, after I went into work for 7 a.m. By the way, I do not recommend this... In some ways it's a good thing because you get so much done before anyone else gets into the office, but you are so tired by lunchtime.
Arrived just after 7, to find some people playing Pick Two (a Scrabble-like game), some people just arriving back from soccer practice and some people completely crazy. In other words, same old, same old.
Saturday, Mom, Tristan and I went to Ingonish for Tristan's cross-country run. It was a lovely drive up. First time I have travelled along a part of the Cabot Trail, and I can now say that it's reputation is well deserved. The drive up Mount Smokey was worth the 2.5 hour drive. Breathtaking to say the least.
Tristan did well on his run. His coach bumped him up to the senior division (he's supposed to be intermediate), but he still managed to come in third in his division. He hopes that this will help him for regionals in two weeks.
Saturday night, my bother and I were testing my camera to see if we could get some images of the full moon. Try as we might, (after some minor arguing over shutter speeds and aperatures), we still couldn't get a good shot. Quit after a while in disgust.
Sunday, my grandfather, father, brother and I went to New Boston to see the waterfall. Beautiful day and the colours were perfect. I took different shots of the waterfall, testing the shutter speeds on my camera. Managed to get some nice shots that I'm really proud of.
Dad and I did some bonding time afterwards, travelling to Two Rivers Wildlife Park and Gabarus to pick up all the signage for the Motofest event that Dad helped out with. It was a nice trip and I enjoyed the time with Dad.
Today, I took some action shots of Dad on his new motorcycle so that he could prove that there was NOT any snow in Cape Breton right now. Apparently, a lot of the people that came for the event are convinced that snow has already fallen .
Now home. Time to unpack and relax.
