Nino’s POV
It’s been a few minutes since Haruka left. I stood up from my seat and then sat down in front of Sho.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you?” I started to ask. I caught the others attention and they immediately focused on us.
“Nothing…” He answered
“Fine… Tell me about it when you’re ready.”
“Thanks.”
“But! I can’t believe you got caught! We tried so hard to keep ourselves from telling her. We thought that you would tell her later on. Why did you have to get yourself caught?”
“I didn’t know that she would be coming! I was caught off guard.”
“Still! You should have been careful about it.”
“I was careful. I just wasn’t able to….”
The doors opened interrupting our conversation. We turned our heads towards the door to see the intruder. It was Tsubaki-chan. He looked back outside before facing us back.
“Did you guys see where Haruka-chan went?”
“She went outside a few minutes ago.”
“No, she was right in front of the door when I came here. Now, she is not here anymore.”
Panic engulfed my whole system. ‘Did she hear our conversation just now?’ I thought to myself. I turned to face the guys, who also caught up with the situation. ‘I need to know if she heard us.’
“Tsubaki-chan, you said when you came here Haruka was outside our door right?” He nodded.
“Was there anything unusual about her?”
“Hmm… She looked like she wanted to enter the room, but doesn’t want to. Also, when I came up to her she looked like she would cry in any minute.” He said.
“S**t!” I cursed before dashing outside. I ran through the hallway hoping that she was still there, but unfortunately she wasn’t. We ran to the stairs, and I caught a glimpse of her running down the stairs. I felt adrenaline kicking in me as my pace gradually became faster and faster in hopes of catching up to her.
I was now on the ground floor, but I lost sight of her. The staff was everywhere. I turned my head to every corner of the room searching for her. Alas! I finally found her. She was standing outside waiting for a taxi to come by. I immediately ran over to her. I placed a hand on her shoulder then turned her towards me. The moment she was faced to me, I noticed her tear-stricken face. I cupped her face with my hands and tried to wipe the tears from her eyes with my thumbs.
“Don’t touch me!” She exclaimed as she swatted my hands from her face.
“Haruka…” I said in a pleading voice.
“Shut up! I don’t want to hear anything from you.”
“Let me explain, Haruka. I promise I will explain…” I looked at her, but her face became contorted. She was holding on to her sling bag’s strap as if her life depended on it. I knew that something was wrong.
“Haruka, daijobu?” I heard Oh-chan ask, but she turned away from us. I saw her signaling the taxi to a stop. Oh-chan followed her to the taxi.
“Haruka-chan, please her us out.”
And for the first time in my life, I saw her burst out in anger. “Stop talking to me!” She walked away from us once again, and headed for the taxi but before she even got the chance to open the door, I saw her body collapse.
Fortunately, Oh-chan was near her and was able to catch her before she hit the pavement. Oh-chan held her in his arms with so much care. We hovered over her.
Panic suddenly engulfed my system. “Haruka, Haruka!” I shook her body trying to wake her up, but it was of no use. She did not even stir. I tried to softly slap her cheeks while calling out her name, but it was of no use.
“Oh-chan, carry her into the taxi. I’ll go to the hospital with her. You guys just follow.” I commanded OH-chan. He started to carry her into the taxi when Tsubaki-chan came out of the building.
“Ninomiya-san, is everything okay?”
“No, it’s not. We need to bring Haruka to the hospital immediately. Please move the shoot to another day.”
“Ninomiya-san, please don’t worry and leave it all up to me.”
“Thanks! I owe you a lot. Tell me the details later. I need to go.” I turned away from him then rushed towards the taxi. I heard him mention something in the lines of take care of Haruka.
I sat in the front seat of the taxi. The back door suddenly opened. I turned back to see Sho-chan coming in. As soon as the door was shut, I asked the driver to drive us to the nearest hospital.
I looked back to see Sho-chan one hand holding onto her hand while the other was caressing her cheek. She was lying ever so still on the chair. Her breathing was not even. It was not even near even. If this were to continue chances are… I would not even dare say it.
I faced the driver, “Mister, can you please drive faster?” I spoke. Panic was clearly evident in my voice.
I once again turned back to see how she was. I reach out to touch her face, “Haruka, gomen ne? Please listen to onii-chan. don’t you dare leave us now…” I whispered pleadingly. Tears were now starting to blur my vision. I wouldn’t be able to bear the possibility of losing her. She was the first girl to accept me for who I am and what I was. I can’t take the possibility of losing my little sister. The tears started to make their way down my face.
“Nino, get a grip. She won’t go anywhere.” I nodded at him then wiped my eyes with the back of my hand. I faced forward once again. I took out my wallet, and took out some bills that I knew would be enough when we got there, and kept it in my pocket.
We arrived in the hospital not long after. I handed the cash to the driver and gave him my thanks. We hurriedly got down and Sho carried her limp body into his arms. We ran inside looking for a doctor. A nurse saw us, and guided us to the emergency room.
Sho gently placed her down the bed. We wanted to be by her side, but the doctors and nurses refused to allow us. We walked away from her, and sat down on the nearest benches. I sat down on the bench resting my head on the wall behind me as I stare into the ceiling.
After a while the other guys came rushing in.
“How is she?” Jun asked.
“Nothing has been said.” Sho answered.
Aiba-chan sat down beside me. “Nino-kun, don’t worry. Haruka-chan will surely be fine. She’s a healthy girl deshou?” He said reassuring me.
“Aiba, you don’t know what you’re saying.”
“What do you mean by that?” Sho asked. I looked at them.
“She… she is not as healthy as you guys think.” I stood up from my seat.
“I’m going to call her brother.” I informed them, but I knew that they knew something was up.
Once I was outside of the hospital, I started looking for Ryou’s name in the contacts. I finally found it and started to dial.
Kyle’s POV
I looked at clock on top of my table. It clearly showed that it was already 10:30 evening. I stood up from my seat, and started to pace around the room. There was something unusual. It feels like I couldn’t feel calm ever since this morning when I left the house. I looked out from my window. Everything was dark except from the lights from the houses and posts. My phone suddenly rang. I looked out into the peaceful night once again before I went to my desk to answer my phone.
“Ryousuke speaking”
“Ryou, this is Nino. We have an emergency.”
“What emergency?” I asked apprehensively.
“Your sister collapsed. We took her to the hospital.”
“WHAT?” I almost screamed.
“You have no time to panic Ryou. We’re here in XXX hospital.”
“Thanks. I’ll be there as fast as possible.”
“We’ll wait for you in front of the emergency room.”
“I’ll see you.” then closed my phone off.
I pressed the intercom.
“Shinji-san, please tell the driver to take the car out, and please contact Yamamoto-sensei and ask him to go here. Please do it as soon as possible.”
“Hai, obocchama.” I ran out of the room, down the stairs until I arrived at the entrance. I walked to the car with Shinji-san by my side. He opened the car door for me.
“Obocchama, I already talked to Yamamoto-sensei and he said he will be on his way. Pardon my nosiness, but may I ask if anything happened?”
“Haruka collapsed. She’s in the hospital right now, so I need to head over. I’ll go now.”
“Hai, obocchama please take care.” He said with a bow, and then gently closed the car door.
While we were on the way, I can’t put the worst case scenarios out of my head. It made me panic so much. I asked the driver to speed up so many times during the ride. Seriously, I can’t think straight.
We arrived in the hospital more or less in 15-20 minutes. My whole body seemed to move unconsciously in a very fast pace, before I knew it I was already in front of Nino.
“Nino, how’s Haruka?”
“Nothing’s been said.” I replied.
“Ne ne Nino-kun who is he?” A guy said with a very energetic voice.
“Gomen, I forgot to introduce you guys. Everyone this guy here is Okamoto Ryousuke. He is the second brother of Haruka. Ryou, these are my band members: Aiba Masaki, Sakurai Sho, Ohno Satoshi, and Matsumoto Jun.” He said while pointing at them.
“Nice to meet you.” I bowed to them politely, and they did the same.
“Thank you for taking care of Haruka. I know how much of a trouble my little sister can make.”
“Iie iie, Haruka-chan is really fun to be with, and food she makes is really CHOU OISHI yo!” The one that I remember was called Aiba Masaki said.
“Surprisingly, she’s making guy friends here.” My thought just slipped out of my mouth.
“What do you mean?” I heard Nino ask.
“Nothing nothing.”
I leaned onto the wall nearest me. I sighed.
“Is she gonna be alright?” I spoke talking to no one.
“Okamoto-san, don’t worry about Haruka-chan. Surely, she will be okay.” The guy with puffy cheeks said. If I remember right his name was Ohno.
“Hopefully” I mumbled.
A doctor suddenly came to us.
“Konbanwa, I’m Kashiwaga Hikaru.” He greeted, he looked like he knew what our questions would be and spoke.” She’s is fine now…” The doctor reassured us. “She collapsed due to the stress and the lack of oxygen in her body. It seems to me that she has not been sleeping well and been under stress, so I hope that she would take a break from her work for a while for her betterment. She is currently depending on an oxygen tank to breathe normally, but I think that she wouldn’t need it after a while.”
“Thank you, sensei.”
“No worries. You can now go to her, but please refrain her from any stressful activities for the moment or it might endanger her.”
“Wakarimashita.”
“I need to go now. If you need me just ask for me from the nurse’s desk.”
“Hai.” Then he left us.
“Where is she?” I asked them, and then Nino led the way.
Her breathing was supported by an oxygen tank. No matter how much I have seen her like this in the past, it always makes me sad. I walked to her side and stroked her hair.
“You should have just listened to me and quit your job.” I scolded her.
I looked up at the other guys on the foot of the bed and then at the surroundings. Nurses and patients were staring at us, and giggling. It was just then that I remembered that they were famous.
“Hey guys, I think we need to transfer her into a private room.” I said while secretly pointing to the surroundings. They discreetly looked around, and got what I meant.
I fixed up everything with the management of the hospital so that they wouldn’t leak the idols’ coming here. Of course, it included some money.
We were inside the room. I got a chair and placed it beside the bed. I started stroking her hair.
‘I know that you are currently going through a problem even if you don’t tell me. You know that I am always here for you.’
“Ryou, I just want to ask something.” I turned to Nino.
“Nani?”
“When we were waiting earlier, what did you mean when you said you’re surprised that she got male friends?”
“I guess she hasn’t told you then.”
“About what?”
“I want to ask you guys then, how much of the real Haruka do you know?”
“What do you mean?” The one that was called Sakurai Sho asked. I heard a lot about him from the politicians I am associated with. He has a good reputation.
“Let me ask you then, what kind of a person is Haruka to you?”
“Hm… She’s cheerful, energetic, a smile always plastered on her face, strong…” then he cut me.
“Okay, how about you Matsumoto-san?”
“She’s a very intelligent girl. She always cares for everyone.” I nodded.
“Ohno-san?”
A little silence before he spoke, “She is always aware of what is going around her…”
“Aiba-san?”
“She is fun to be with. She is true to her words.”
“Nino?”
“She is clumsy, a little bit spoiled, but she never boasted about herself.” I nodded again.
I took my seat and placed it in front of them then sat down.
“What you said about her is mostly true, but most of you have never seen her true self.”
“What do you mean?”
“Nino you asked why I was surprised about her making guy friends right?”
“Yeah”
“When we left for America, she had her operation. After a while, she decided that she would stop homeschooling, but instead would go to a real school. Of course, my parents disagreed with her idea, but Haruka persisted that she wants to meet other people then sulked around the house. Eventually, my parents surrendered to her will. She was 15 that time, and it was her first time studying in a school and not at home so she was pretty excited. She easily became friends with other people. Considering the Haruka is pretty and elegant, it’s not a wonder why she easily got a boyfriend. She loved him with all her heart, we all knew that, but one day she came home really depressed although she tried hard not to show it to us. She changed ever since that day. She never brought her boyfriend back home again and she became quieter. She never spoke to us about that issue, so me and my brother felt compelled that we had to do something for her. We hired a private investigator to look up on the matter....” I took a deep breath before starting again.
“It seems that the harshness of this world hit her. Her boyfriend cheated on her face to face. Adding oil to the fire, he did not just cheat on her with just anyone. He cheated on Haruka with her best friend. It seems that the news was all over the campus. Just imagine how hard it would be to go to school, and face people gossiping about you.”
“We tried to talk to her about changing schools, but she just smiled at us and said that we shouldn’t bother about it. That things like that would eventually die down. We can’t do anything about it since she was resolute with her decision. She changed because of it. She changed to someone who didn’t allow any stranger to come near her.”
“After a year, she changed back to her original self because of a friend. Her name was Maya. She made Haruka destroy that wall she made for her protection. She was always there for Haruka. Maya would sometimes come to our house to play. Haruka decided to play cupid for her and my eldest brother, and her efforts were not in vain though. Kiyoshi, our eldest brother, got married with her. Up until now, all of her relationships have been a disaster. It all ends up with them just using her for money.”
“Through all those times she tried to keep a smile on her. My brother and I knew that hidden that smile she’s very broken, so in our own ways we tried to be her support. We tried to protect our little sister. That’s why when she decided to live on her own we became worried. I try to visit her every once in a while so that I can be reassured that she’s fine.”
“I remembered the last words she said to me before she left America, ‘Onii-chan, I want to leave America not because I want to leave you guys. I just want to leave my comfort zone and live my life as a commoner. I want people to look at me for what I am and not for who I am.’ Hearing that from her I knew that she was breaking inside. She wanted to go as far as possible from the place that had hurt her so much.” I looked Sakurai seriously in the eyes.
“Sakurai-san, I know that you are my little sister’s current boyfriend. Please forgive me for investigating, but I want you to know that I did this for my sister. I hope that you could take good care of my little sister. I want her to be happy. I will entrust to you my sister. I am warning you though. If ever you hurt my sister, please don’t tell me that I didn’t warn you.”
“How much of the real Haruka have you seen? I hope that when the day you understand what I am saying you’ll take care of her.” I smiled at them.

“What do you mean?” The one that was called Sakurai Sho asked. I heard a lot about him from the politicians I am associated with. He has a good reputation.
“Let me ask you then, what kind of a person is Haruka to you?”
“Hm… She’s cheerful, energetic, a smile always plastered on her face, strong…” then he cut me.
“Okay, how about you Matsumoto-san?”
“She’s a very intelligent girl. She always cares for everyone.” I nodded.
“Ohno-san?”
A little silence before he spoke, “She is always aware of what is going around her…”
“Aiba-san?”
“She is fun to be with. She is true to her words.”
“Nino?”
“She is clumsy, a little bit spoiled, but she never boasted about herself.” I nodded again.
I took my seat and placed it in front of them then sat down.
“What you said about her is mostly true, but most of you have never seen her true self.”
“What do you mean?”
“Nino you asked why I was surprised about her making guy friends right?”
“Yeah”
“When we left for America, she had her operation. After a while, she decided that she would stop homeschooling, but instead would go to a real school. Of course, my parents disagreed with her idea, but Haruka persisted that she wants to meet other people then sulked around the house. Eventually, my parents surrendered to her will. She was 15 that time, and it was her first time studying in a school and not at home so she was pretty excited. She easily became friends with other people. Considering the Haruka is pretty and elegant, it’s not a wonder why she easily got a boyfriend. She loved him with all her heart, we all knew that, but one day she came home really depressed although she tried hard not to show it to us. She changed ever since that day. She never brought her boyfriend back home again and she became quieter. She never spoke to us about that issue, so me and my brother felt compelled that we had to do something for her. We hired a private investigator to look up on the matter....” I took a deep breath before starting again.
“It seems that the harshness of this world hit her. Her boyfriend cheated on her face to face. Adding oil to the fire, he did not just cheat on her with just anyone. He cheated on Haruka with her best friend. It seems that the news was all over the campus. Just imagine how hard it would be to go to school, and face people gossiping about you.”
“We tried to talk to her about changing schools, but she just smiled at us and said that we shouldn’t bother about it. That things like that would eventually die down. We can’t do anything about it since she was resolute with her decision. She changed because of it. She changed to someone who didn’t allow any stranger to come near her.”
“After a year, she changed back to her original self because of a friend. Her name was Maya. She made Haruka destroy that wall she made for her protection. She was always there for Haruka. Maya would sometimes come to our house to play. Haruka decided to play cupid for her and my eldest brother, and her efforts were not in vain though. Kiyoshi, our eldest brother, got married with her. Up until now, all of her relationships have been a disaster. It all ends up with them just using her for money.”
“Through all those times she tried to keep a smile on her. My brother and I knew that hidden that smile she’s very broken, so in our own ways we tried to be her support. We tried to protect our little sister. That’s why when she decided to live on her own we became worried. I try to visit her every once in a while so that I can be reassured that she’s fine.”
“I remembered the last words she said to me before she left America, ‘Onii-chan, I want to leave America not because I want to leave you guys. I just want to leave my comfort zone and live my life as a commoner. I want people to look at me for what I am and not for who I am.’ Hearing that from her I knew that she was breaking inside. She wanted to go as far as possible from the place that had hurt her so much.” I looked Sakurai seriously in the eyes.
“Sakurai-san, I know that you are my little sister’s current boyfriend. Please forgive me for investigating, but I want you to know that I did this for my sister. I hope that you could take good care of my little sister. I want her to be happy. I will entrust to you my sister. I am warning you though. If ever you hurt my sister, please don’t tell me that I didn’t warn you.”
“How much of the real Haruka have you seen? I hope that when the day you understand what I am saying you’ll take care of her.” I smiled at them.
