When we got to this point, I was glad I bought some new kicks instead of wearing the flip flops I brought. I was also thinking, this is a little more intense than I had planned for. Note to self: Skip out on boy scout outings in the future.

Okay, so today I went with my sister, brother-in-law, 6 & 7 year old nephews, and 18 month old neice to Maryland with the Cub Scouts. We went hiking on a trail named after a billy goat. I was thinking how bad can it be if it's called billy goat trail? What I should have been thinking instead is why in the heck would you want to climb something that billy goats climb?

I had to find these photos to show you what my 18 MONTH OLD NEICE went through. Not to mention ME. We paid 5$ to do this and we had to pay Doug 5$ just to go up the cliff. I asked if I could get 20$ if I went up the cliff.

I wasn't kidding. I really meant cliff. Or how about large rock that goes straight up with a ledge that you can cling to as you make sure your 7 year old nephew doesn't fall off the side of the rock and tumble down into a thousand more rocks before he plunges to his death in the Potomac river below. I'm not exaggerating. We bribed him with 5$. He said, "You'll pay me 5$ if I live!" He was serious. If you saw this rock, you'd understand why.

Now I've never been the outdoors type. Once I worked at a "camp" and pretty much hated every element of the outdoors. Like the time I had to canoe. One time I had to go down to the dock and get in the canoe with some girls. First, we sat in a one inch puddle of water. Then, we got washed back up to the shore. Then, the canoe tipped just enough so that the water came flodding in. Now we are sitting in about 5 inches of water. Now, I push off from the sand we were banked upon to get over to the screaming child in the next canoe who is scared of the tree she is stuck on. Did I mention the girls in my canoe were crying? Just ask Jake. We have exchanged canoe horror stories.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that we should get the most advanced boy scout merit badge for cliffhanging, rock climbing, all the while carrying a baby like in the movie Shoot 'Em Up. Go watch the movie. That was Dave today. Seriously.

So these aren't my pictures because my camera is broken. But, I still have a headache. And this is definitely part of what we did today.
