iron man lives again, OR i should have been a gamer

Feb 03, 2006 14:21

my roommates purchased a new video game, complete with a pretend guitar-controller, where you have to hit various buttons on this special guitar thing along with little bubbles that come up on a huge guitar fret on the screen. despite being serenaded with less-than-perfect versions of "iron man" over and over, i have to admit, the game is sort of neat.

however, i would also like to paint the picture of two people playing mano el mano on these little guitars, rocking out to frankenstein or some such music, trading turns attempting to hit all the colored bubbles on their virtual guitar frets.

also, i found this job posting on monster.com today:

"Eastridge Administrative Staffing in support of SOE is recruiting for bilingual chinese and french testers for the SOE product line:

Requirements:

- Chinese or French Speaking
- Familiar with online gaming (EverQuest II knowledge is a plus!)
- Video game knowledge of product, types, genre and skills.
- Gaming experience, ability to communicate effectively, focused and detailed.
- Sufficient technical skills to work on a PC (drivers, etc…)."

...

i guess this is my cosmic come-uppance for making fun of/declaring unhealthy the online gaming addictions enjoyed by so many.
