Dear Festividder!

Hi! I'm so happy you're vidding for me! The details for each fandom are the same as in my requests, dearest vidder, but I do have a short note about general likes/dislikes if you think that'll help. In general, though, I have few squicks and I love all of these fandoms so much that it's hard to go wrong. Have fun and do what you want! And if you aren't my assigned vidder but are contemplating making some treats, please feel free to see if something on my list inspires you. I LOVE Festivid treats.

Best,

Sorts of vids that I like: character studies, explorations of the interactions between characters (shippy or not), universe vids. Vids that are hopeful, dark, thoughtful, heartfelt, humorous, or engaging with the source in any other genuine way. Basically, I'm feeling it as long as you're feeling it!

Sorts of music that I like: If the vid is good, I can like pretty much any song. Go with your gut. My personal tastes run more toward alternative/indie/folk/rock/blues/pop/hip-hop etc. (sort of in that order -- but basically, any and every-thing) with the exception of anything overly shrill or contemporary country or things that are otherwise obnoxious. But I am pretty easy.

Things I dislike (or at least am not as fond of): straight-up parody unless it's REALLY spot-on, over-the-top literalism unless with purpose, any character-shaming. (I doubt any of these things would happen in capable hands -- I just wanted to give a few examples for perspective!

And I said this last year, too, but I love vids and vidding for vidding's sake. I don't care if you vid a character or pairing I don't care about, I just want to see the vid you want to make for the source. Vids can MAKE me care.

The Adventures of Tintin (1991) [TV]

You can't go wrong with this fandom. If you need more direction, I love Tintin, Snowy, and Captain Haddock the best, but Thomson and Thompson could also make for an awesome vid. (And if you want to go the slash direction, I ship Tintin/Chang (and Tintin/Skut, and, and) more than I do Tintin/Haddock, but that doesn't mean I don't see and appreciate it! Follow your heart. But omg, CHANG.)

Animorphs [TV]

If this seems familiar, it's because I'm copying a lot of it from last year, but it all holds true! At age 12, I loved the Animorphs book series like nothing else. Like, I'm pretty sure Tobias was my first love in either print or flesh. And as I recall it, the show was pretty shitty, but I still loved it because these were MY characters, and they were ON SCREEN and they were DOING THINGS! I would love any vid of the show for the same reason. Plus, I think a talented vidder could do some fun work with the sad, possibly blurry Nickelodeon source. (Oh man, do I need to reread the books? I wonder if they'd seem terrible now? I don't care, I loved everybody.)

Batman: The Animated Series [TV]

DICK GRAYSON. Please please! Or Bruce himself, or both of them fighting crime TOGETHER and having terrible communication skills TOGETHER! Alternately, Alfred? Or a general universe vid with heroes and villains both?

Ghostwatch (1992) [TV]

I mean this in the best of ways when I say: Make me a vid I can't watch. Vid the essence of "Don't go in the glory hole." It just needs to happen!

The Pretender [TV]

(Again, recycled from last year -- and the year before? Someday, my Pretender vidder will come!) It'd be fab to see a Miss Parker vid. Or Broots! Or Sydney! Or all three, and how their uneasy alliance turns into friendship and trust in the face of the Centre and all its creepiness. <3 But I also love Jarod and I love the conspiracies and I even love the occasional clone. You could pretty much vid anything.

Sleepy Hollow (2013) [TV]

It's always tricky to vid ongoing sources, but as of October, I *ADORE* this show. If it starts sucking by the time you have to vid it, I trust your ability to vid a "Good Parts" version, but hopefully it won't come to that! I love Abbie and Ichabod and their partnership, the ridiculous mythology of the show, and I ship Ichabod with basically anybody (especially either of the Mills sisters). Have fun with it!

Stoker [Movie]

Gorgeous movie! I'd be happy with a vid about any aspect of this movie, but aside from the visuals, here are some things in it that I love: family, power differentials, voyeurism, coming of age, taking a higher step on the staircase, bad seeds, stuffed birds, someone just like you, spider by the piano, uncle by the piano, her father's belt, NEW PAIR OF SHOES, moments of dread, moments of joy, waiting for the right moment, waiting, waiting, ready.
