meet beyond the shore

So I was merrily watching season one of the X-Files, thinking, "Okay, all of my friends have implied that at some point this show gets interesting, I just need to stay awake until then," when suddenly -- BLAM. Beyond the Sea. Oh my God. General Hammond! Scully is Starbuck! Creepy serial killers can see things! Mulder is awkward and gets shot! Toss in the heartbreaking father/daughter relationship issues and it's like this episode was made for me. And ever since then, even the ridiculous episodes are kind of engrossing, and I'm really digging the characters. It's won me over. Oh, show, how did you know that General Hammond being proud of his daughter is totally the key to my heart?

(Oddly enough, there was also a great "General Hammond is proud of his slacker son!" moment in season two of Twin Peaks. I was already addicted to the show by then, but it still pushed my buttons. General Hammond! Stop sneaking into my creepy shows and making me cry!)

Sigh.

One of my friends is thinking about getting an iPod, so I let her take a look at mine and its playlist organizations. Just now realized that probably the reason she was smirking at me was because some of my playlists have rather embarrassing names: "LED to the ZEP," "the letter R!," "cursed impala," and "doctor/methos" being only a few examples. Oops. How about y'all? What are some of your more incriminating playlists called?

Speaking of embarrassing iPod games, here's a meme I snagged from sdwolfpup:
