I've got a nice hard cot with his name on it.

Summer! These days, it's work, sleep, and staring at the walls. I keep trying to write and reply to emails and things but my fingers aren't cooperating. They keep typing really dumb-sounding sentences or wandering off to eat junk food. Grarr! I could just give up on all this and read Harry Potter 7 (which is still glaring at me from across the room, all umpteen pages of it), but probably I'll just end up watching more Arrested Development. Although, come to think of it, the copious amounts of Arrested Development are probably what's wreaking havoc on my ability to write and/or communicate to begin with. I think I'm starting to turn into one of the characters. That's a pretty scary thought. Keep me away from my cousins, all right?

More random linkage. This webcomic, No Rest For The Wicked, is pretty cool. Well-paced, easy to follow, neat ideas, and some genuinely creepy and funny moments. I love it when people put a new spin on fairy tales. Check it out!

I've found it hard to get into webcomics, especially ones with a serial storyline. Most of the ones I end up looking at contain a glut of characters that I can't keep track of, or flat dialogue, or distracting art, or something else innocuous that makes my attention span go zzzzziippp and wander elsewhere. But sometimes, I get completely sucked in and read everything, only to reach the end... to discover that I have to wait several months for a new page. I understand the time that it takes to create something like that, especially if you're doing it all solo, but it doesn't gel well with my habit of steamrolling through anything that I'm really enjoying. That said, I do really want to get into more of them. Does anyone have webcomic recs? Any genre, as long as you think it's spiffy and worth reading. I don't feel like I'm looking in the right places for the good stuff -- and I know there's good stuff.

And now I impose on my flist even further... with a poll! I feel stifled and yucky and in need of finishing something fannish. Mind taking a peek behind this lj-cut and telling me what the heck to write? Even if the specific poking doesn't help, maybe it'll at least entice me to get something done...
