I intended to post these on the actual weekend, for once, but since I never actually post to the associated community it doesn't really matter anyhow! (I'm procrastinating on homework, can you tell?)
Assorted fandoms, assorted degrees of done-ness. Links go to backdated LJ entries, feel free to leave comments as you wish -- I don't currently plan to finish any of these, but it'd still be neat to hear what people think. And in no particular order:
Python story snippet (due South): This was an aborted attempt to actually write my prompt for that Worst Case Scenario challenge. I got "How to Escape from a Python." And I have no memory of where I was going with this, other than that Fraser was at some point going to rescue someone from a python and RayK was going to do something too and it was going to be this whole big slashy analogy. Yeah.
Vampire!Brian crackfic (Queer as Folk): Reading this again makes me cringe. I wrote it in a creative slump a year or two ago, and you can tell. The writing is stilted and awkward sounding. I think I was trying to be Anne Rice, complete with the insufferable erotic/violent overtones. Blah. Don't feel obliged to read this one.
G/R RPS (Queer as Folk actors): Yes, I once dabbled in RPS. Thank god this never went anywhere. I still kind of like the flow of their conversation, although I think in general my writing has improved since then.
Creepy Duncan Ficlet (Veronica Mars): Blood'nguts! Incest! Ghosts! Sleazy hotel rooms! I was struck by a random idea in the middle of season one. I'm almost tempted to finish this one, but... blood'nguts! Incest! Woo!
Redivivus (Queer as Folk): I insanely love writing het for QAF fandom. It's like... negative-slash. And Lindsay/Sam is such an artsy, fun pairing. Really, looking over this ficlet, it seems basically done - the beginning and end are there, I think I was just going to add some scenes in the middle where they actually have a conversation or something crazy like that.
Possible end for Retrograde (Queer as Folk): I know some folks are still sticking around for me to finish my amnesia!Brian fic. This is one of the possible endings I had floating around, but I was never quite happy with any of them. Trying to draw the pseudo-realism of the fic to a happy conclusion was... weird. Cliched and fake and too-sweet. I discovered I liked the last "real" scene of the WIP best as an ending: Justin, tired and frustrated, leaving into the early morning light. (Is it a metaphor for my leaving QAF fandom? Hmm...) But if you wanted a happy ending, here you go.
Ghost!Fraser fics:
version one,
version two (due South): Same idea, two slightly different takes on it. Version one was going to be a much longer fic, with plot and a happy(ish) ending and stuff. Version two is quite short but basically done, I just felt like it needed one more paragraph to finish it off. I like both of these snippets a lot. And I am fairly evil to RayK in both.
Carmen/Shane PWP snippet (The L Word): I wrote these scant paragraphs shortly after Carmen's first appearance. I stopped when I realized I had suddenly forgotten all sexy - or even anatomical - terms for female genitalia. The PWP was not meant to be.
Sayid/Sawyer snippet (Lost): I think eventually there was going to be sex. Or conversation. But I kind of like it as it is: approximately 150 words of fighting. (I haven't posted this before, have I?)
There, I think that's it for now! Coming up eventually: abandoned vid WIPs.
