My school has apparently made some change that renders IRC, FTP, AIM and such other things with three letters kinda incapable of working. Not sure if it's intentional or just some firewall side effect - I'll have to call on Monday and try to find out more. But in the meantime, grr! I'm very lucky that YM (only two letters!) still works

Do you have Mozilla? There's a chat function called Chatzilla that you might be able to useto bypass the stupid school.
