It takes me forever before I feel comfortable enough to write in a fandom. Queer as Folk is the only one that's passed my internal battery of tests lately, although I had a brief dabble in Dead Like Me that was nice.
To read:
Okay. Here is where you need to understand that I'm a fic-reading slut. Name a fandom and I've probably read something in it, or would be willing to. My current top choices, however, would be Stargate Atlantis, QAF, and House (but only the reaaally good fic or I cry out in pain).
Of course, that's all meaningless because over the last few days I've been wallowing in Due South fics up to my ears.
Want to read:
I want to read really good Farscape fic. Long, epic John/Chiana or John/D'Argo or John/Harvey or something. And maybe some Firefly that manages to convey the true glory that is Mal Reynolds's pants, because I haven't yet found a fic that does so.
Shows I love but don't read fic in:
Dead Like Me. I don't believe that any fic can do that show justice, and to try would be like doing nasty things to something holy. (And yes, I count my own fic in that statement.) But of course, if anyone has good recs, feel free to share.
[02] First fandom:
If my very first fandoms don't count - Wizard of Oz, ElfQuest - but only the first one in which I interacted with other fans, that'd be Star Wars. Original trilogy, thanks very much. But the first fandom that I participated in online was Buffy.
[03] Most recent fandom:
Umm. Stargate Atlantis? Farscape? House? I don't know. I get into many fandoms at once. I want to go with the "vidding" answer. One of the cool things about vidding fandom is that many vidders seem to be in different fandoms all at once, and don't necessarily have to be bound to a certain pairing. I feel a certain kinship. Also, they bring the pretty.
[04] Five fandoms that mean a lot to me:
Highlander, for being so much a part of my formative fandom years. Queer as Folk, for bringing me to interact with other fans on a consistent basis. Dead Like Me, because I adore adore adore the show. Jossverse, because dude. Vidding, for reasons including but not limited to the reasons I mentioned in my answer to the previous question.
