Found out something today!
So I am very happy, because after doing some research online, I found out that the school I teach at is considered "low income", which means if I teach there for 5 consecutive years, the government will cancel out $5,000 of my student loans! Which, considering I have something like $28,000 total, is awesome. Will make my life much easier down the road. Now if only someone would cancel out some of my car payments... :)
I have been insanely busy, putting together my classroom... pictures to come on Facebook soon! I love the 1st grade team, my TA, my class list, everything. It's going to be a great year, and I'm so happy to finally have a bigger room with storage space and room for my new mini fridge and microwave... (Both birthday presents) Back to my classroom... I actually have 4 students I had last year, so that's cool.
Speaking of birthdays, have I mentioned I will be 24 in 5 days? It's my golden birthday-- 24 on the 24th! I like presents.
It's hot. Still. It's been over 100 for something like... 19 days straight. Unheard of. Like right now, the sun has gone down, and it's still 95 degrees, with a heat index of 99.
Oh, and I'm officially a Southerner-- I tried Sweet tea and liked it! Takes like fruit oatmeal... Don't ask.
